Spring is in the air and it’s time you woke up from your winter style hibernation and shone! Take off coats, hats, beanies, scarves, berets or whatever you were wearing all winter long and show off your beautiful healthy hair. You already know about main hair cut trends for 2009 and now it’s time you found out the hair colors to rule this year!
Well, there’s not much new stuff to think of. Generally, traditional hair colors remain dominant with slight changes added to make this year’s hair color trends different from the previous one’s, you know what I mean.
So, the main hair color trends 2009 are:
Natural blonde
Blonde is always hot. Blonde is chic and glam. Blonde is too multifaceted a color to make you look plain and like everyone else around. There can never be two identical blondes. Especially in 2009. Natural blonde is hot this year.
When you want to make it fancy, add rich highlights and lowlights, play with the contrast and shades of color.
Red
The red color rocks this year. It’s a hot color trend, though you must be careful with it as it’s not always flattering. Warm shades of red are huge in 2009. Golden highlights on the top are very cute and very stylish.
And again, don’t get simply plain red. Play with contract and shades, intensity of color and accents. Besides, the “traditional” red, there are several shades you can opt for – strawberry blonde, copper brown, burgundy or auburn.
Brunette
Always in vogue, brunette will get simple in 2009. Make sure you have your brunette hair look as natural as possible. 2009 is not about black, bright or stripy highlights, sorry.
Think the classic brunette shade. However, absence of highlights doesn’t mean you can’t improve the color by adding darker shades to make it look deep and carefully groomed.
Dark Brown
If you think you want something darker than just brunette but not as deep as ebony then your perfect choice is dark brown. Think chocolate. Like the color? Being hot in 2009, dark brown can make you look really beautiful, and what’s important, it’s good for almost any complexion.
Raven black
This hair color is very strong in 2009. If you have a fair skin, you’re sure to look vamp. But be careful with make up and outfits you wear in order not to look glum and tired. Generally, black is what you need to impress and turn heads anywhere you go!
Get your color, think about you style, and get your perfect look in 2009! Remember you’re beautiful, hot and head-to-toe perfect! As for hair color, you can always change it if you want. Hair color is just another accessory you have, make sure you wear it right!

you can’t have just ONE color in style – ONE color doesn’t look right on everyone…basically it’s saying that NATURAL is in and all those stupid pastel colors or chunky highlights are OUT.

The trend is natural tones, regardless of your colour! So it means bold, and multi colouring, ie purples, blues, greens etc are not the trend!

It means that the more “natural” or less dramatic looking shades of each color are in rather than say the darkest or lightest or some other rare color or something with twenty gazzilion highlights or chunks of different colors, etc.

I have to respectfully disagree with the expected color trends for 2009 in this blog. With all the emphasis in Hollywood and in the beauty industry as of late put on consumer conscious spending and organic/ green products. I believe that will, and already has, translated into fashion & accessories. Thus intern will be translating to the fall 2009 hairstyle/ color trends. What does this mean? It means that I believe the Bohemian long sleek & wavy hair trends will prevail. Color will be rich neutral shades with “barley there” highlights for movement. i think the trend is natural hair . maybe a few little highlights but the blonde, thick ones are out. supper straight flat hairis out too . just make your style how you want without dramtic changes

I’m SO excited to see that those disgusting, chunky blonde/multi-colored highlights are going bye-bye! Along with the fierce “Kate” hair (and hopefully that word!) Now I don’t have to gag everywhere I go! Well, except when I run into college girls or soccer moms…they’re still sporting those crappy styles pretty strongly!

So what if you go like a dark brown with plum/burgandy highlights? Is that considered out? Im not looking for chunky highlights. Id do the cap and pull every 3rd or 4th hole. I have very thick hair so it needs some dimension!

I came to this site to see what color I might like, but this is crazy. Maybe im just not a fashion worshiper, but shouldnt a person be able to look like they want to without ten milion paople telling them that the look isnt “in”.maybe its just me.

I think the color trends are silly, always do what is right for your skin tone and what you really like, if you need to follow a trend then so be it, but i think this article contradicts it’s self. lmao like the natural shades are in but not?… well i say do what looks best for you!
I like the shorter pixies and bobs but it would not suit me… hence do what you LIKE and what SUITS you !!
