First Lady style – no fur
Can this trend extend beyond the White House territory?
Two First Ladies, Carla Bruni-Sarcozy and Michelle Obama have stated that they refuse to wear fur.
I do not wear, buy or own fur or animal skin other than leather or skin of animals raised for feeding purposes,” Carla Bruni told PETA. “I am not a vegetarian, and I don’t find it illogical to wear skins of animals whose meat is also eaten. I would gladly consider giving away sable, fox and other fur coats – if I owned any.”
American Fist Lady Michelle Obama echoed her French counterpart in the statement that reads: “Mrs. Obama does not wear fur.”
Well, PETA activists must be thrilled as wearing no fur by such fashion icons as Obama and Sarcozy can become a role model example for many people round the globe.
For Michelle Obama, respecting animals is obviously part of the social progress that she and her husband are working so hard to promote,” PETA stated. “By officially rejecting fur, these two style icons will make people everywhere see fur for what it is: old-fashioned and cruel.”
Well, Hermes apparently doesn’t care about First Ladies.

Does it mean she doesn’t wear leather neither and is a vegetarian? Well, no! On the contrary! She loves leather and is being spotted in leather all the time. Why is wearing fur considered a big NO but wearing leather is OK? And what about eating meat? I mean, if we go around killing cattle for leather and meat and see nothing morally wrong in that, why it is immoral to wear fur? It’s slightly hypocritical, isn’t it? I wear leather and silk, and eat meat… and yes, I also like wearing fur. And I do not see anything wrong in it since all my fur has the Origin Assured label (www.originassured.com) so I know that it comes from a country where they care about animal welfare. Nika

dear nika and everybody else who wears fur, wearing fur is disguisting.There can be no excuse for wearing fur.SO MANY INNOCENT ANIMALS ARE BEING SKINNED ALIVE TO PRODUCE FUR.
