What’s so good about fashion trends? One of the greatest pluses is that they make a comeback over time. Now we often see celebs donning retro-styled clothes and accessories, putting retro-inspired makeup and doing hair in a retro style.
One of the greatest fans of retro chic is the one who kissed a girl and liked it – Katy Perry – who says 1940s style was “unique”.
Everybody had their own kind of deal, it wasn’t like walking robots wearing one label or having to wear one thing because it was the coolest, trendiest thing,” she explains.
The 24 year-old songstress loves this irresistible retro chic in every aspect of her look. She loves to wear high-waisted shorts and skirts, retro curls and bright makeup with bright cherry ChapStick, of course.
When thinking about modern day stars opting for retro glam, we just have to mention Christina Aguilera. Already now, she’s famous for her blonde locks, bright lips and gorgeous retro gowns. The rumor has it, however, that Christina started wearing big, retro curls because she’d damaged her hair so much with the braids and weaves of her Dirrrty days. No matter what the reason was, her transformation from a modern day nasty girl to 1920s and 1950s style goddess is almost incredible.
The same can be said about mother of two Gwen Stefani. This style icon can mix retro looks with totally up-to-date fashion tendencies creating a mix of style and glam that we can nothing but admire. Gwen interweaved her retro glam into her everyday image, and it’s hard for us to imagine her without beautifully dressed red lips, black eyeliner, pale complexion and blonde hair.
Newly single Amy Winehouse also opts for 1950s and 60s style on stage. Retro dresses, retro makeup, retro beehive, retro sound, she’s like a person from another decade when performing. Unfortunately she doesn’t really look her best now but hope the divorce will do her good (I keep my fingers crossed for you, Amy).

World known supermodel and lingerie designer Dita von Teese has been promoting retro chic for a long time. Her make up, clothes and posture, everything reminds us of old black and white movies. Her love of corsets is another characteristic retro feature of hers.
