Justin Bieber
Justin Bieber is the super cute Canadian pop/R&B singer, who has stolen the hearts of every young girl on the globe. After posting dozens of homemade videos on YouTube in 2007, where the multi-talented Bieber put his impeccable spin on songs from artists like Usher, Ne-Yo and Stevie Wonder, Justin was discovered by his future manager Scooter Braun. Braun flew Bieber to Atlanta, Georgia, to consult with Usher and soon signed a record deal with Island Records, where he began his professional career.
Before being famous
Bieber was born on March 1, 1994 in Stratford, Ontario, and was raised by his single mother, Pattie Mallette. Though Justin maintains contact with his father. Young singer taught himself how to play the piano, drums, guitar, and trumpet. In late 2007 Justin and his mother began posting videos on YouTube so that his family and friends that could not attend his performances would be able to view them, posting his cover versions of songs by Usher, Chris Brown, Stevie Wonder, Justin Timberlake, Ne-Yo and more. Justin’s popularity on the site grew day by day. Check out his break-dancing at the age of 8.
At that time Scooter Braun, a former marketing executive of So So Def, clicked on one of Bieber’s videos by accident, while searching for videos of a different singer. Impressed, Braun contacted Mallette. Mallette was reluctant; she remembered praying, “God, I gave him to you. You could send me a Christian man, a Christian label!” However, after praying with her church elders and receiving their encouragement, she permitted Braun to fly Bieber, then 13, to Atlanta, Georgia to record demo tapes.
A week after arriving, Bieber sang for R&B singer/songwriter Usher, who arranged an audition with Antonio L.A. Reid at Island Records, who in turn signed him to Island Records in October 2008. Justin Timberlake was reportedly in the running to sign Bieber, but he eventually signed with Usher. Bieber and his mother then moved to Atlanta, also the home of Usher and Braun, to base his career.
Music career
Bieber’s first single, “One Time”, featured guest vocals from Usher and was released to radio while Bieber was still recording his debut album. The song reached number 12 on the Canadian Hot 100 during its first week of release in July 2009, and later peaked at number 17 on the Billboard Hot 100. During fall 2009 it had success in international markets. The song was certified Platinum in Canada and the U.S. and Gold in the Australia and New Zealand. Bieber’s first album My World, was released on November 17, 2009. Three consecutive singles, “One Less Lonely Girl”, “Love Me”, and “Favorite Girl”, were released exclusively on the iTunes store and charted within the top forty of the Billboard Hot 100. The previous was also released to radio and peaked within the top fifteen in the Canada and the U.S., being certified Gold in the latter. My World was eventually certified Platinum in the U.S. and Canada and Silver in the UK. To promote the album, Bieber performed in several live shows
Bieber performed Stevie Wonder’s “Someday at Christmas” for U.S. President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama at the White House for Christmas in Washington, which was broadcast on December 20, 2009 on USA television broadcaster TNT. Bieber also performed at Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest on December 31. Bieber was a presenter at the 52nd Grammy Awards on January 31, 2010. He was invited to be a vocalist for the remake of We Are The World for its 25th anniversary to benefit Haiti after the earthquake. Bieber sings the opening line, which was sung by Lionel Richie in the original version. On March 12, 2010, a version of K’naan’s “Wavin’ Flag” recorded by a collective of Canadian musicians known as Young Artists for Haiti was released. Bieber is featured in the song, performing the closing lines.
“Baby”, the lead single from the second half of his debut album, featuring Ludacris, was released in January 2010 and became his biggest hit thus far, charting at number five in the U.S. and reaching the top ten in seven other countries. Two digital singles, “Never Let You Go”, and “U Smile” were top thirty hits on the U.S. Hot 100, and top twenty hits in Canada. According to review aggregator Metacritic, the album has received “generally favorable reviews”. It debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200, making Bieber the youngest solo male act to top the chart since Stevie Wonder in 1963. My World 2.0 also debuted at number one on the Canadian Albums Chart and Irish Albums Chart and reached the top ten of fifteen other countries. To promote the album, Bieber appeared on several live programs including The View, the 2010 Kids Choice Awards, Nightline, The Late Show with David Letterman, The Dome and 106 and Park. On April 10, 2010, Bieber was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live.
Bieber’s voice is now deeper than it was when he recorded his albums because of puberty. The singer discussing his vocals remarked, “It cracks. Like every teenage boy, I’m dealing with it and I have the best vocal coach in the world. [...] Some of the notes I hit on “Baby” I can’t hit anymore. We have to lower the key when I sing live.” “Justin is physically developing at a slower rate than most guys so his voice is only breaking now. He’s working with the best in the business, a specialist called Jan Smith, to make sure he gets much vocal rest as humanly possible for a working pop star. It’s the same people who worked with Usher when his voice broke,” News Of The World reported.
In October 2010 Justin introduced his alter ego Shawty Mane and a month alter it was reported that Justin was planning a rapping collaboration with Young Money rapper Lil Twist. Twist said: “Justin’s a rapper now, so he’s gonna be goin’ in. [Collaboration is] in the works. We got a few records done, and every time we talk, we actually talk about this mixtape.”
At the end of 2010 it was reported Justin’s ‘Baby’ became the most watched YouTube video of the year with 408 million views. His other videos also made it to top 10 most watched (‘Never Say Never’ at #6, ‘Never Let You Go’ at #7, and ‘Somebody To Love’ at #9).
In April 2011 Time Magazine named Justin Bieber among the 100 Most Influential People of the year, a month later he was ranked third of Forbes‘ list of 100 most powerful celebrities 2011.

My World is the first release by Canadian singer, Justin Bieber. It is considered to be the first part of a two-part debut release. My World, being the first part is considered an extended play standalone. It was released on November 17, 2009, via Island Records, and the second part was released on March 23, 2010.

Unplugged Acoustic Album (My World Acoustic) was released on November 26, 2010. “I’m thinking about breaking out the acoustic guitar and having some fun,” Justin Bieber said about the new album. “Feeling really good about it. Back to the roots.”
Along with well-know hits from JB’s two albums the new record includes a new song (‘Pray’) that Justin recorded in Hawaii “for the fans for the holidays”. The album also features a live version of 2009 single ‘Favorite Girl’ as well as ‘Never Say Never’ ft. Jaden Smith.

Around the same time My World Acoustic was released Justin revealed he was working on new music for the next album. “[It'll] probably [come out] fourth quarter next year,” he told MTV News. “Drake is gonna be on that album; I’m not sure [who else]. I’m gonna ask him if he can get [Lil] Wayne on there.” Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun and producer Sean Garrett said the new album would “segue him into young adulthood” and present his music to a new category of fans aged 22-23 years old.
Never Say Never – The Remixes
The remix album was released on Feb. 14, 2011 just three days after Never Say Never 3D hit big screens.
For the new record, Justin Bieber has teamed up with the likes of Miley Cyrus, Kanye West, Rascal Flatts, Chris Brown, Usher and The Karate Kid star Jaden Smith. The only song without a guest star is ‘Born To Be Somebody’ performed solely by Justin.

Bieber Fever
Bieber’s popularity has already caused a lot of safety concerns. During promotion of his debut album My World, Bieber was scheduled to appear at Long Island’s Roosevelt Field Mall, but the performance had to be cancelled. Over 3,000 screaming fans showed up for the appearance and got out of control. Several fans received minor injuries. The police arrested an Island Records senior vice-president, James A. Roppo, reportedly for hindering the police’s crowd control efforts by not sending a timely message on Twitter as instructed by the police. James Roppo pleaded not guilty to all charges. On March 24, 2010 Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun, was arrested on one count of second-degree reckless endangerment and one count of second-degree criminal nuisance related to the incident. Braun pleaded not guilty to both charges and was later released.
On April 27, 2010, Justin’s promotional performance was cancelled by Australian police after several girls were injured in a crowd crush. Bieber was scheduled to sing three songs for the Channel Seven program, Sunrise. An estimated 4,000 pre-teen girls showed up at 3:00am and stormed past safety barricades. In addition to those injured, dozens were treated for hyperventilation. Later teen idol tweeted, “I want to make this clear… I didn’t cancel…I want everyone to still remember my fans’ safety comes first. At the end of the day I want you all to enjoy the music.”
Arriving at Auckland airport in New Zealand later that day, Bieber arrived to the screams now labelled “Bieber Fever”. Radio LIVE New Zealand reported on airport security’s efforts to keep Bieber out of trouble. He later told that somebody stole his hat and “knocked down [his] mama.” The teenage girl who stole the hat then uploaded a video to the Internet, outlining the demands of her extortion attempt. The next day, she returned the hat amid speculation of possible criminal charges.
In October 2010 Justin released his first autobiography First Step 2 Forever: My Story. The book features his childhood photos, songs’ lyrics and chronicles his two years in music industry.
Around this time it was revealed JB would launch a line of nail polish with OPI as well as his own fragrance with Etoile Nation Beauty on November 26, 2010. The unisex fragrance My World is infused in wristbands and dog tags promising to last up to one year. The perfume accessories collection comes in four designs – Icon, Energy, Tour and Web. “Most male celebrities do male colognes for other males,” Justin Bieber said. “I think that me making a female fragrance is just a different idea and I think it’s going to be successful. I’m just really, really excited about it. It’s going to be really big.”
In June 2011 Justin launched his first perfume for girls called Someday. “Let’s be real, the way a girl smells is very important to a guy!” Bieber told WWD about his new fruity floral scent. “I have such a deep connection with my fans, so creating a fragrance that I personally love is another way I can bring them closer to my world.” According to the singer, all proceeds from the perfume sales went to his favorite charities Pencils of Promise and the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
Justin’s global popularity helps him raise money for charities he supports. In December 2010 it was reported Bieber’s efforts to publicize the Pencils of Promise charity paid off as they raised enough money to build 20 schools for underprivileged children. Justin tweeted: “AWESOME!! We have 2GETHER built 20 SCHOOLS for Kids in Need!! We can MAKEACHANGE!! @pencilsofpromis (sic) great job.”
As to his very personal life, Justin’s girlfriend is Disney star Selena Gomez. The couple were first seen together in late 2010 but it’s only in 2011 that they went public with the romance.
Justin and Selena are very close to each other. They even told once that they would like to become the next Brangelina. They made their first step to common future by adopting a puppy in Winnipeg, Canada. Despite numerous gossips and negative moments in their relationship the couple manage to stay very close and supportive. In October, 2011, a girl named Mariah Yeater claimed Justin Bieber to be the father of her three-month-old son and demanded him take a paternity test. Justin’s reps definitely denied this case.
Filmography
In addition to all the music talent Justin has, he was involved in a couple of movies in 2009. In True Jackson, VP and Silent Library he played himself. In 2010 Bieber was a guest star at live late-night television sketch comedy and variety show Saturday Night Live.
In September 2010 Justin guest-starred on CSI and was reported to be in talks to play in Will Smith’s new project. In February 2011 Justin returned to CSI for another episode.
In October 2010 Biebs landed his first TV show job being named the new host of MTV’s Punk’d.
The same month Justin Bieber revealed the title and the release date for his debut movie. His biopic entitled Never Say Never will be released on February 11, 2011 in 3D and “tell the underdog story of where he came from.” Director Jon Chu said: “It’s not your typical concert film and it’s not going to be a biopic … but it is about his life. I think it’s more of a documentary.”
Justin’s next big screen project was the comedy What Would Kenny Do? where he co-starred with Ashton Kutcher. In May 2011 the rumor also had it JB was cast to play the lead in Mark Wahlberg’s basketball movie, making it his first role in a serious drama movie.

I can’t say anything because I didn’t listen to a single song by Justin (I will as soon as I can finally find some time from school and badminton and etc..). But any way, I know how much girls love his. It’s insane. I walk into school one day and all the girls are wearing these blue shirt with his pic. on the front and say “Oh my gosh!Justin Beiber Concert today!Yay!” and I’m confused to I ask “Who’s Justin Beiber?” because at the time I had no idea who they were talking about.Everyone just stares at me so I leave and research him when I get home. After I read several articles and saw that girls in school were leaving early just to go to Justin’s concerts, I figured it was just another one of those stupid obsessions that people have with new celeberties. But then all the guys were saying bad stuff about him and I felt terrible for him.Soon, girls who were obsessed with him one day were hating him the next. Reason? I was disgusted when I read the stuff about Justin Beiber saying the best part about being famous is getting all the girls. Mostly the girls that like him do so only because they think he’s hot or something. Justin Beiber may like it, but I think it’s sick.
Don’t people understand that people like eachother because they like the way the other person is? Because they like their personality and just simply the way they are? And I can bet anyone on the fact that they don’t know Justin Beiber’s personality or the way he is. And I can honestly say that he probably does have amazing musical abilities.
I not saying I don’t like him, because I don’t even know him and didn’t listen to his music. So basically, I don’t have an opinon on the actual person, Justin Beiber.

Hey! I think that Justin has a great voice and yes that he is very cute. I’m only 12 but I’ve heard enough to know that some people think that you are a stuck up brat. I am a fan of Justin myself but he’s just a regular teenage boy. I mean yea, hes cute and can sing… There are others out there like that but the only difference is htat Justin is famous. Please just give him a chance to be normal, after all.. he is just 16 years old- he deserves it.
