
At Sunday’s ceremony musical production South Pacific gave away seven Tony Awards, including musical revival.
The 62nd annual ceremony was hosted by Whoopi Goldberg and was held at Radio City Music Hall in New York.
The show also picked up best director, four design awards: set, costumes, lighting and sound and Paulo Szot took best musical leading actor.
Pulitzer Prize-winning August: Osage County won best play and In the Heights was named best musical taking three more prizes including best original score for the theatre, best choreography and best orchestrations.

Patti LuPone received a rousing ovation. She won the actress-musical prize performing Rose. Patti said:
It’s such a wonderful gift to be an actor who makes her living on the Broadway stage and then every 30 years or so picks up one of these.”
It was her second Tony after the one she won in 1980 for playing Eva Peron in Evita
