Tom Hanks is one of my favorite actors. He’s talented, he’s natural, he’s original, he’s a “quintessential actor” as Julia Roberts noted.
Hollywood actors and directors paid tribute to two-time Oscar winner Tom Hanks at the special gala event that honored Forrest Gump actor for a lifetime of career accomplishments at the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s annual gala tribute on Monday night.

Dapper clad Tom Hanks arrived with his wife Rita Wilson. With all respect, her dress sucks.

Tom Hanks’ son, Colin Hanks, also attended. I like Colin as an actor, you? Maybe he’s still not that bright and outstanding as his dad but think it’s the matter of experience.

The gala event was hosted by Duplicity star and all American Sweetheart, Julia Roberts. She arrived without her husband wearing a white Dolce & Gabbana sheath dress that reminds me of Michelle Obama style.
He does everything from the campy comedies like Bosom Buddies to Cast Away. Everyone asks what Tom is like. He’s what you want him to be” the actress said.

I loved Charlize Theron’s look. She chose a demure lacy black dress that stressed her toned body and her long legs.
Besides the fact that I’m a massive fan, I feel like I got interested in acting because of him and watching his work,” Charlize said of Hanks. “Getting the chance to work with him and getting to know him a little bit made me realize that there’s something about him that is so genuine and sweet, and just sincere.”

The star-studded party was also attended by director Steven Spielberg, actress Glenn Close, Angels & Demons director Ron Howard, supermodel Christy Turlington, Bruce Springsteen, Sally Field, and others.

Tom Hanks joined the line of other Hollywood legends who have previously been honored by the Film Society of Lincoln Center, such as Meryl Streep, Dustin Hoffman, Al Pacino, Susan Sarandon, Martin Scorsese, Clint Eastwood and Charlie Chaplin.
Tom Hanks’ latest film, Angels & Demons will hit theatres on May 15. Check out the trailer here.
