Give it up to a new global fashion initiative!
American Vogue has teamed up with NYC & Company, the City of New York, and the Council of Fashion Designers of America to “promote retail, restore consumer confidence, and celebrate fashion.”
U.S. and international editions of Vogue will hold evening extravaganzas all round the world with Fashion’s Night Out on September 10, 2009!
Fashion’s Night Out will open New York Fashion Week with a lot of festivities – from inventive window displays and model and celebrity appearances to musical performances, downtown barbecues, makeovers, brow bars, and haircut stations, Fashion’s Night Out official website reported.
Besides New York, Fashion’s Night Out will also hit France, UK, Italy, Russia, Brazil, China, Spain, Germany, Greece, India, Japan, and Taiwan.
It’s like a global shopping spree!
To support the initiative Sex And The City’s Sarah Jessica Parker, actress-turned-designer Ashley Olsen, hip-hop mogul Sean P Diddy Combs, Vogue editor Anna Wintour as well as renowned fashion designers Vera Wang, Oscar de la Renta, Diane von Fursterburg, and Donna Karen starred in the PSA to promote the event. Check it out below.
It’s one of the very rare occasions when Anna Wintour smiles wholeheartedly.
