I can’t believe that Britney Spears won 2 times versus Coldplay!
Coldplay is on tour now, why didn’t they get the ‘Best act 2008′?
And Tokio Hotel beat Metallica? I guess the newcomers are taking over and the reason why Britney and Tokio Hotel won was because fans voted. I guess, Coldplay’s and Metallica’s fanbase is usually much older and do not lurk the MTV website.

Ultimate Legend Award was given to Sir Paul McCartney by U2’s Bono. As Sir Paul received the award to celebrate his lifetime achievements and contribution to music he said:
I want to thank my mates Ringo, John and George. Many years ago four little boys went on to do quite well. Thanks to everyone — and thanks to all Americans for voting for Barack Obama.”
Katy Perry, the girl who ‘Kissed A Girl’, and gay blogger Perez Hitlon were the hosts of the ceremony.
Beyoncé Knowles performed ‘If I Were a Boy’ followed by Take That, Kanye West ‘Love Lockdown’ and ‘American Boy’ along with Estelle.
Later we saw The Ting Tings, Kid Rock, and my favorite Duffy singing ‘Mercy’.
Despite loads of nominations for record-breaking stars such as Coldplay, Duffy, Leona Lewis and The Ting Tings, just one UK artist was a winner.
Yes, the only home success at Liverpool’s Echo Arena was Eighties has-been Rick Astley. WTF? That guy sucks!
