Anne Hathaway and James Franco co-hosting Oscars 2011
Actors Anne Hathaway and James Franco are announced as new hosts for the 83rd Academy Awards next year. The Academy has chosen Anne and Franco as they represent the new generation of Hollywood actors and are a perfect choice to entertain the Oscar audience on February 27, 2011, the day the annual event will be held.
James Franco and Anne Hathaway personify the next generation of Hollywood icons-fresh, exciting and multi-talented,” Oscar producers Bruce Cohen and Don Mischer said in the statement. “We hope to create an Oscar broadcast that will both showcase their incredible talents and entertain the world on February 27.”
Oscar buzz, Anne Hathaway and James Franco can also be nominated next year for their roles in Love And Other Drugs and 127 Hours, respectively. We’ll find it out on January 25th when the nominees are announced.
While it’s an Oscar hosting debut for James Franco, Anne Hathaway has already guest-starred in Hugh Jackman’s opening number when he hosted the Oscars in 2009.
