Jessica Simpson Sells First Pictures of Baby Maxwell for $800K

Jessica Simpson has allegedly sold pictures of her newborn baby to an American magazine for $800,000. Jess, whose celebrity fashion line is reported to have raked in one billion dollars in sales, gave birth to her first child, a baby girl named Maxwell Drew, on May 1. People magazine has done a deal with Jessica to run exclusive photos, sources told Women’s Wear Daily.

I think there is something really sad about selling pics of your baby. But then, the paps sell their pics as well so I guess the parents should get something for it. Considering the wealth of Ms Simpson maybe she will consider giving it to a children’s charity in her daughter’s name. Maxwell is a stupid name for a little girl, though.

Sure, it is significantly less that some other stars received for baby pictures – Jennifer Lopez received $6 million from People for snaps of her twins. The same mag reportedly gave Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt around $11 million for the exclusive on their twins Vivienne and Knox.

The way celebrities seek to make money off their children is revolting. I am truly disgusted! At least Jolie and Pitt gave their money to charity.

Of course, not all A-list celebrities demand high fees – Beyoncé and Jay-Z declined all offers and instead posted the first pictures of Blue Ivy Carter on their Tumblr page.

Jessica may be set to cash in on another front too – there are also unconfirmed reports that she is signing a $4 million deal with Weight Watchers.
