From Around the Web: New Details on Charlize Theron’s Adopted Son Jackson

Charlize Theron announced several days ago that she has adopted a son. Her rep said in a statement that Charlize ‘is the proud mom of a healthy baby boy named Jackson’. So, the 36-year-old joins the row of actresses who have adopted a child as a single mother, including Sandra Bullock, Connie Britton, and Kristin Davis. Little Jackson was born in America and is of African-American descent and he’s the first child for the South African-born Theron. The actress is currently single following a nine-year relationship with actor Stuart Townsend, which ended in 2010.

Charlize Theron has become a mom as she has adopted the 4-month-old baby boy Jackson.

Although she has said marriage was not necessarily on her to-do list, being a mother has been. She revealed last August:

I want a baby. If it would happen tomorrow I would be very happy.”

Hinting at her desire to adopt, Theron added:

There are so many unwanted children on this earth and it’s our job to care for them. And if we don’t, we’re doing the world a disservice.”

Today more details are popping up about her new page of life as a mom! Charlize told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show:

It’s been amazing, the amount of emails and congratulations. Everyone’s just been so lovely — it’s been really nice.”

And when talking about being a mom to four-month-old Jackson, she said:

I didn’t think I would be a fan of the swaddling, but the swaddling’s pretty amazing. It sort of looks a bit like a straightjacket — you’re like, ‘Is this child abuse?’ but for some reason they just love it.”

Awww… It’s so sweet… I like Charlize Theron as a n actress, I think she’s pretty calssy woman too. My congrats, Charlize!
