Scarlett Johannson and Ryan Reynolds are divorcing
It’s official, the hottest couple Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds are divorcing! They announced the split via the joint statement for People Magazine.
After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we’ve decided to end our marriage,” Scarlett, 26, and Ryan, 34, said. “We entered our relationship with love and it’s with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn’t expected, it’s certainly appreciated.”
According to the source the split that happened last month was 100% amicable with both stars “very civil about it.” Spending most of the year apart is what they cite as the main reason for parting ways.
The big problem with their relationship is the distance. They spent a lot of time apart when they are working… [Scarlet Johansson's] been unhappy for a while,” the source added.
That’s so sad and something I didn’t see coming.
Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson started dating in spring 2007. They got engaged in May 2008 and married in September 2008 in Canada.
This year both Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson have been named sexiest people alive by People and GQ.
UPDATE: Ryan Reynolds was the first to officially file for divorce on December 22, 2010.
