No kidding, Katy and Russell are an item!

First I refused to believe the rumor but after I saw this photo of pop duchess Katy Perry leaving the London apartment of British rascal Russell Brand in the early morning of October 3 I had nothing else to do but agree – yes, Katy and Brand are an item.

The gossip first surfaced amongst the persistent engagement rumors saying Katy and her on/off Gymclass Heroes boyfriends Travis McCoy were getting pretty serious after rekindling their romance this past summer.

However, in the mid September Katy told reporters she “did not have a boyfriend”, thus, defying all the reports. I don’t know if Brand watched that interview or read the piece in the papers but when hosting 2009 MTV Video Music Awards this year he was seen talking to Katy and reportedly kissing the girl.

Neither Perry, nor Brand confirmed the dating rumor that time.

Soon after that, both had a week long vacation in Thailand and never stopped exchanging flirty messages via their Twitter microblogging pages. The rumor also has it, they spent hours flirting on the phone, too.

Last week Katy locked herself in London partying with her new man and actually going public with the rumor (kind of):

Pssst… I’ve got a secret. HUGE news coming in a couple days! No, my ego is not prego.”

Katy met Russell at last year’s VMAs and never really tried to hide her admiration for the comedian:

I met Russell Brand who I’m in love with,” Katy said during her interview for Radio 1 in 2008. “I love him. He’s so great. He’s got the worst sense of humor in the best sense of the way.”
