Jada Pinkett Smith Denies Will Smith Divorce Rumors

Jada Pinkett Smith has opened up in a new interview about her marriage to Will Smith, insisting divorce is not to be expected. The 40-year-old actress spoke to French magazine Gala and reflects on the media storm they were swept up in eight months ago where it was claimed she had a fling with her Hawthorne co-star Marc Anthony. Will and Jada denied the reports at the time, which were published by InTouch magazine last August.

And now Jada says she still wonders why she was ‘chosen’ to be at the centre of a celebrity divorce drama. Asked why media fuus over marital strife continues, Jada said:

I have no idea! Every year, one celebrity couple is under the microscope. This year, unluckily, it’s us! I almost want to say that we should have been expecting it.”

She went on:

Will and I know the truth. We’re waiting peacefully for the storm to blow over.”

She said about reports of marital strife:

These rumours are completely untrue.”

Jada admitted she spends a lot of time apart from Will, who she married in 1997, but said it has always been their lifestyles:

I travel a lot because of my work, just like Will does… But our lifestyle hasn’t changed.”

The Matrix star added:

Before we had the kids, we were already far away from each other quite often because of separate projects.”

And she also talked about their living arrangements, denying reports they live separate:

That’s ridiculous. We’ve always lived together.”

Will is currently filming the M. Night Shyamalan movie After Earth with their son Jaden, 13, while Jada will be hitting the road with Willow, 11, on her singing tour. Jada added:

As a mom, I’m very proud to see them pursuing the things they love. We leave them enough space to express themselves and make their dreams come true. We leave them free to make their own choices. We try not live through them.”
