It must be more than just a real bummer to have your dream wedding canceled just days (or hours) before the ceremony. You may think of runaway brides but grooms can also be the ones to ruin the fun. These seven celebrities have all been dumped shortly before their weddings were supposed to take place.

#1 Hugh Hefner

Hugh Hefner’s story has shocked the world. His young fiancee Crystal Harris, 25, has canceled their June 18 wedding and moved out of the Playboy mansion. Not the best thing to do five days before the nuptials!

Reports claim the split was “amicable” and Crystal and Hugh, who’s 60 years her senior, will remain good friends. However, the sources also say that Hugh, 85, is still “in shock”.

Crystal took to her website to address the wedding cancellation:

After much deep reflection and thought, I have decided to end my engagement with Hef. I have the utmost respect for Hef and wish him the best going forward,” Harris wrote.

Hefner was less expressive taking to his Twitter to tell his followers the wedding was off:

Crystal has had a change of heart.”

#2 Jennifer Lopez

It may sound stupid that somebody as bossy and demanding as Jennifer Lopez could be dumped at the altar. She was. And it was Ben Affleck to break her heart (after winning it with a six carat pink diamond engagement ring).

Ben and Jen had one of the most highly publicized relationships in Hollywood history. The couple was supposed to wed in 2004 but Ben Affleck canceled the nuptials just days before the event.

I don’t think I had ever been heartbroken in that way before – had so many hopes and dreams on something. This was the first time and it was tough. When you go through that kind of heartbreak in front of everybody you are not quite the same person you were before,” Jennifer Lopez said in the documentary in 2010.

#3 Rachel Hunter

Model Rachel Hunter was dumped by her fiance Jarret Stoll just two months before their August 2009 wedding. The crazy thing about the split was that Jarret, a Canadian ice hockey star, didn’t even explain why he was leaving her.

Rachel Hunter was devastated as “everything was in place for their wedding”. That time her rep asked the media to respect her privacy during “this extremely upsetting time.”

#4 Demi Moore

Fellow young actors Demi Moore and Emilio Estevez were supposed to get married on December 13, 1986. Shortly before the ceremony the couple announced their decision to call everything off and remain “just friends.”

Next year Demi married Bruce Willis. The rest is history.

#5 Carson Daly

Troubled actress Tara Reid was supposed to marry long time boyfriend and TV presenter Carson Daly but then suddenly they called off the engagement and the wedding with Tara accusing Carson of cheating on her with strippers and models.

#6 Kiefer Sutherland

Julia Roberts and Kiefer Sutherland were supposed to marry in 1991. Just three days before the wedding Julia canceled it without any further explanations. That time sources said Roberts didn’t care much about Kiefer and was simply “in love with love.” A few days later she was seen with a new boyfriend in London.

#7 Janine Turner

Nothern Exposure star Janine Turner and Hollywood’s hot guy Alec Baldwin were engaged to be married. When everything was ready for the nuptials Alec went back on his word to marry and called everything off. According to Turner the split “was very, very painful”. Besides it left her with as many as $8 in the pocket and $2,000 in debt.
