Chris Brown apologized to Rihanna and his fans in the video statement

It’s been six months since Chris Brown assaulted Rihanna on the pre-Grammy party night so looks like it’s high time he told us his part of the story.

Convicted of assaulting his R&B singer girlfriend last month, Chris has just released his statement saying he’s truly sorry. He asks Ri and his fans to forgive him and wishes he had a chance to live those few moments of Feb 8 again.

Though I take Rihanna’s side in this case, must say Chris had to be pretty brave to release the statement and accept his full responsibility and not to make any excuses.

In his statement he said:

Since February, my attorney has advised me not to speak out even though ever since the incident, I wanted to publicly express my deepest regret and accept full responsibility. I wish I had the chance to live those few moments again but unfortunately I can’t. I cannot go into what happened and most importantly, I’m not going to sit here and make any excuses. I take great pride in being able to exercise self-control and what I did was inexcusable. I have told Rihanna countless times and I’m telling you today that I’m truly, truly sorry and that I wasn’t able to handle the situation both differently and better. What I did was unacceptable, 100%. I can only ask and pray that you forgive me and hope that others learn from my mistakes.”

Chris Brown promised he would do anything he can to make sure the February case will never happen again.

The guy still wants to get his role-model status back, nice try Chris.

In related news, Rihanna is reportedly dating Chris’s good friend and music genius, Pharrell Williams. The rumor has it, working on Ri’s new album together did get the two closer and they “have chemistry” and totally “mesmerized by one another.”
