Unsuccessful celebrity side projects

Spotlight doesn’t last forever. Knowing that fame is short-lived, celebrities use their talents in all different projects that are not related to Hollywood and glamorous celebrity life. Some open restaurants, some launch clothing lines and design furniture. Some get really successful (think Victoria Beckham) and some celebrity side projects simply fail to impress.

Unsuccessful celebrity side projects:

Paris Hilton is well known as both a socialite, TV personality and businesswoman. While some of her other ventures are pretty successful, her hair extensions project has failed. The company is now suing Paris for $35 million for failing to promote the product and wearing the rival company’s hair on TV and redcarpet.

Pete Wentz opened his own bar with a pretty strange name Angels and Kings but failed to succeed as a business man. His bar was soon closed for allegedly serving minors alcohol.

Famous vegetarian Natalie Portman decided to spread the word about benefits of her way of life via a line of animal-friendly footwear. Unfortunately for her, fashionistas didn’t really get the point of plastic shoes.

Gene Simmons from KISS decided to please fans with a range of… KISS-endorsed coffins. KISS Caskets were supposed to be a hit with fans but it didn’t really happen.

Did you guys know Prince had his own perfume? I didn’t. His 3121 fragrance failed to impress the customers or maybe smelled too bad in comparison to its more famous fragrance rivals.
