Tattoo addicted: Female celebrities who have 9+ tattoos

Getting tattoos seems like the IT thing in showbiz, it’s hard to find a celeb without a tat these days, but while some prefer to have one or two, others follow their tattoo obsession and have dozens of tats cover their bodies.

Female celebrities are as crazy about ink as men.

Tattoo-addicted Rihanna debuted her new neck tattoo last month and showed off a set of fake tattoos in Hawaii earlier this week. A pistol on her hip and several tattoos on her arms have been created for her new movie Battleship, her big screen debut in 2012.

Rihanna joins the list of female celebrities who have more than 9 tattoos. Here they are:

Megan Fox (9 tattoos)

Megan is known for her love of tattoos. As of now the married Mrs. Green has 9 tattoos including a poem on her ribcage reading “there once was a little girl who never knew love until a boy broke her HEART”, a symbol for strength on her neck, Brian Austin Green’s name on her hip, a bull’s eye on her lower back, a line from Shakespeare’s play King Lear: “We will all laugh at gilded butterflies” on her right shoulder, a picture of Marilyn Monroe’s face on her right arm, a rib ink reading “Those who danced were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music,” among them.

This latter tattoo is the latest in Megan’s collection and it was made in late spring this year. Megan Fox said she had this tattoo in honor of her Passion Play co-star Mickey Rourke.

Mickey is such a beautiful, wonderful human being. He’s so genuine and so sweet and so talented. I just love him to death. I just love him very much and think he’s very special,” Gema told MTV. “I actually got a tattoo that is sort of in honor of him. It’s on my ribs. I don’t know if it’s been photographed yet, but it’ll come out eventually, I’m sure.”

These mentioned above are seven of her tats, the rest two she refuses to show to paparazzi.

Kelly Osbourne (9 tattoos)

While having an impressive collection of tats on her petite body Kelly Osbourne says she disgusts them as they remind her of her bad days:

Don’t get tattoos, please, because you hate them when you get older. I hate them,” Kelly Osbourne revealed. “I can’t play the piano and I have a keyboard because I went through my weird 80s phase and I was really drunk.”

Kelly’s nine tattoos include two skull tattoos on her feet, angel wing tattoos on her back, keyboard on her arm, an anchor tattoo on her opposite arm, a star on the back of her neck, a heart on her little finger.

Nicole Richie (9 1/5 tattoos)

Reports claim Nicole Richie has nine and a half tattoos. Mother-of-two is best known for some tats like angel wings on her shoulder blades and a rosary on her on her right ankle and foot.

Nicole’s other prominent tattoos include “Richie” and a ribbon on her neck, tiara on her hip, red shooting star on her right wrist, word “Virgin” on her left wrist, ballerina slippers tattooed on her abdomen, a cross on her lower back, and a spray of dots on a finger that she got while playing with a tattoo gun when it fired (that’s her “half” ink).

Rihanna (14 tattoos)

Apart from those fake tats for Battleship, Rihanna is known to have fourteens permanent tattoos cover her body. They include:

- a music note tattoo on her ankle,
- a Pisces sign behind her right ear,
- a Sanskrit prayer going down her hip,
- a star in her left ear,
- the word “love” on her left middle finger,
- an Arabic phrase meaning “Freedom is God” on her ribcage area,
- a trail of stars going down the back of her neck,
- a skull with a pink hair bow, the phrase “shhh…” on her right index finger,
- the date 11.4.86 in Roman numerals on top of her left shoulder,
- a henna-style dragon claw including hibiscus flowers,
- a handgun under her right armpit,
– a six-word phrase on her chest.

Rihanna added the thirteenth tattoo in late 2009 and it reads “Never a failure, always a lesson”. The tat is on her chest and tattooed backwards for Rihanna to be to able to read it in the mirror.

The “rebelle fleur” ink was added to her collection last month.

Angelina Jolie (15 tattoos)

She’s the most famous female celebrity who has tattoos, among them “know your rights” on her upper back, between her shoulder blades, the Tennessee Williams’s quote “A prayer for the wild at heart, kept in cages”, which she got together with her mother, the Arabic phrase, and a Yantra prayer written in the ancient Khmer and Pali scripts for her son Maddox, and a dragon on her lower back.

She also has six sets of geographical coordinates on her upper left arm indicating the birthplaces of her children. The latest two tattoos were added in June 2010 and are a decorative swirl positioned next to her elbow, near the tattoo of the Roman number 13, and a thigh tattoo “for Brad”.

   Angelina’s tattoo at her lower back (almost half of her back) is a tiger. And it was done using the traditional or ancient way of tattooing.
