Pam Anderson saves baby seals with PETA

Pamela Anderson and other celebs and media faces have joined forces with PETA to stop annual baby seal massacre in Canada that’s the largest mass killing of marine mammals in the world.

To draw public attention to the issue and unveil PETA‘s new campaign, Pamela appeared with a giant “baby seal” outside the Ontario Legislative Building in Toronto on Friday morning.

I can only hope that by bringing attention to the slaughter, the international outcry will force the Canadian government to end this shameful practice. Canadians aren’t cruel and indifferent, but our leaders have been on this issue,” she said.

The new PETA ad campaign features Pamela, Kelly Osbourne, Jayde Nicole from The Hills, Tricia Helfer and Grace Park from Battlestar Galactica, former Playboy mate Holly Madison, as well as Jorja Fox, Grace Park, Jennie Garth and blogger Perez Hilton donning special t-shirts with a baby seal picture on it.

This campaign is designed to put the issue firmly on the radar of the Twitter generation all around the world. The ads will appear in entertainment magazines and on blogs and will be tweeted in many languages starting this fall in order to keep pressure on the government year-round instead of just during the spring when protests are expected,” PETA Senior Vice President Dan Mathews said in the statement.

“What do I have in common with Barack Obama, Vladimir Putin and The Dalai Lama? We all oppose the slaughter of baby seals. It’s time to end Canada’s shameful slaughter,” Pam’s ad photo reads.

That’s not the first time Anderson graces PETA’s campaigns as an avid supporter of the organization. However, unlike the previous times she goes fully dressed for the pic.
