Sarah Jessica Parker went for the fifth annual Shop For Public Schools Program at Barnes & Noble Tribeca in New York City
With hundreds of retail locations taking part in Shop for Public Schools, New Yorkers can help address this issue, and raise awareness of the importance of giving our students wonderful school libraries.
Shop Week is one key part of The Fund for Public Schools’ larger fundraising efforts for public school libraries, and we hope you’ll join in the fun this year!
Caroline Kennedy and Sarah Jessica Parker want you to shop ’til you drop — and feel good about doing it. Because it is all for education.

Sex and the City star proudly announced:
For the next week, more than 200 retail locations across the city will donate part of their proceeds to public school libraries.”
Specifically, it will help pay for books, technology and other resources in schools that need it the most. A good library often becomes the heart of a school, enabling librarians to coordinate lesson plans with classroom teachers, reach out and involve parents, and host guest authors and workshops.
Ms Kennedy added that the money will help children:
Learn to love reading, improve their research skills and pursue their dreams.”
