Natasha Richardson: accident or curse?
I’m deeply saddened.
Wild Child actress Natasha Richardson, 45, suffered a skiing accident in Quebec when she hit her head against the slope and was then found brain dead by the Canadian doctors.
Richardson was flown home to NY to spend her last day with her family and friends and then be taken off life support today.
Natasha Richardson is daughter of silver screen icon Vanessa Redgrave. She’s married to English actor Liam Neeson (Taken) she raises two sons, Michael, 13 and Daniel, 12 with.
Some people see the family line “curse” in the fatal accident, but IMHO, it’s just about accident, that’s it.
Miss Richardson was taking a skiing lesson in a small group with a private instructor when she fell over. She immediately got up and laughed about it,” a spokesman for the ski resort told the DailyMail.co.uk. “A ski patrol, with individuals trained in first aid, came over and asked if she needed treatment or wanted a doctor. She refused. The instructor then escorted her back her room and remained with her for over an hour. Miss Richardson then said she was suffering from headaches and decided to go to hospital.”
My thoughts are with Natasha, her family and friends.
EVERYONE, PLEASE WEAR HELMETS WHILE SKIING!
UPDATE: The actress died on March 18. The reps released the following statement:
Liam Neeson, his sons, and the entire family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Natasha. They are profoundly grateful for the support, love and prayers of everyone, and ask for privacy during this very difficult time.”
