After a disastrous Wimbledon defeat, Russian tennis player Maria Sharapova turned to what she does best. Yesterday she went to win the cutting edge fashion game in France for 2008 Paris Fashion Week.
Last week Miss Sharapova chose to wear ‘menswear’ instead of wearing a traditional sexy tennis skirt. There have been a lot of talks around that first time ever girl wearing shorts during the play.

The 21-year-old opted for ‘menswear’ shorts on the court last week, but this time decided to put on a very feminine look for her appearance at a Valentino Haute Couture 2008-2009 catwalk show.
Maria turned heads at the Place Vendome. She stepped out of the car in a glamorous coat, pencil skirt and a pair of unique six-inch heels.
Pictured with Camilla Belle, the two are potential BFF.

Alla Kudryavtseva was so thrilled at her unexpected victory she gave away a fashion verdict on Maria’s shorts. She said “It is very pleasant to beat Maria. I don’t like her outfit.”
I would say Alla is a bit of a fashion loser, while Sharapova is the trend setter. Shorts look boyish, but not less elegant, even sexy!
Maria told press of her loss at Wimbledon:
I have had to deal with a lot of ups and downs in my life, on and off the court. But the number one thing is not to be disappointed by that, or by losses, or by negative things, things here and there. You have to find a way to keep your head even though it’s pretty tough.”
