Lea Michele boycotts horse-drawn carriages in NYC in shocking PETA ad
Native New Yorker, Glee star Lea Michele teamed with PETA to boycott horse-drawn carriages in New York and raise voice against cruelty of this street business in the new PETA poster ad and video message.
For the poster Lea is posing with the rescued horse that was once used to pull carriages around NYC. In her video message Michele is talking about the horrible truth of horse-drawn carriages and how much horses suffer and what they have to endure every day.
Imagine for a moment that you’re forced to do hard physical labor all day, seven days a week-whether it’s sweltering hot or freezing cold outside,” Lea Michele said in her message. “At the end of the day, instead of relaxing on [an] easy chair or sleeping in a comfortable bed, you are locked in a tiny closet all night long. This tortured life is a sad reality for the horses who are used to pull carriages.”
Lea’s PETA ad is her way to spread the word that horses don’t belong in city traffic.
The video does look shocking. Next time think twice before you decide to take a ride. (Better boycott horse-drawn carriages, think about poor horses).
