Keira Knightley stars in a domestic violence PSA

Keira Knightley is lying on the floor kicked in the stomach by her jealous boyfriend. What is that?

In fact she has participated in a gritting TV campaign to raise awareness of domestic violence. The short ad film is entitled Cut. It was directed by Joe Wright (Pride & Prejudice).

It is aimed to raise money for the Women’s Aid Charity. Keira and Joe offered their services for free.

The 24-year-old actress plays a successful film actress who is suffering domestic abuse at home.
In short, the ad tells about how transparent the line between reality and screen is.

Keira said:

I wanted to take part in this advert for Women’s Aid because while domestic violence exists in every section of society we rarely hear about it.

Domestic violence affects one in four women at some point in their lifetime and kills two women every week.”

The film was made by advertising agency Grey London.

The commercial shows the statistic that two women die from domestic violence every week and asks viewers to donate to charity Women’s Aid.

The ad is set to hit cinema screens on April 6.

Hope it will make the effect! Though wish this ad were released before Feb. 8 this year. Maybe that would save those two a lot of trouble.
