Hottest Fall 2009 fashion do: Bunny Ears

Louis Vuitton designer genius Marc Jacobs made this fall a lot of fashion fun with now famous Louis Vuitton bunny ears so favored by A-listers and models.

Madonna became the first to wear bunny ears to an A-list glam event donning the blue ears for the MET Gala in early May. After that the ears were spotted everywhere – on magazine covers, at music gigs, at dinners, and while grocery shopping.

So how all this crazy bunny obsession started? Marc Jacobs explains:

There’s a girl who works for us, Lucy, she’s on the design team, and Adrian, one of the boys, was tying a little bit of fabric around and it reminded me of bunny. We were thinking of all these different things like can-can dancers, and I saw this piece of fabric wrapped around Lucy’s head and said, ‘Bunny ears, that’s what we need to finish this look.’ So we made all these radzimir bunny ears and that’s how it happened. I like the kind of Playboy, French coquette aspect to it.”

The latest to don the fashionable piece was sexy burlesque queen Dita Von Teese when visiting the premiere of the show Desires at the Crazy Horse revue on September 21 in Paris, France.

Anyways, Madonna’s blue ears are still most memorable maybe because she was the first to wear them… twice. The first time we saw the 50 year old Queen of Pop in LV creation at the MET Gala, and the second time she tried on the ears was her for Fall 2009 ad campaign for Louis Vuitton.

Following in the footsteps of her music idol, Lady GaGa showed her fashion-forward style donning fancy lace bunny ears and the veil for the cover of Neo 2 Magazine and for a chic outing in Paris.
