Celebrities love to gush about close family ties in magazine interviews but it’s not always so that they’re truly close to their parents (rare calls don’t correspond with the notion of the good family relationship). While some celebrities prefer to be on their own with no parents around them, others are really close to their families, and especially their moms. From shopping together to helping each other through hard times, to joint redcarpet appearances and vacationing together – these celebrities are momma’s boys and girls.

#1 Justin Bieber

Mom means the world to Justin Bieber - besides being the single parent of her super talented son, Pattie is also the one who launched JB’s career by posting his videos on YouTube.

Justin is only 17 and maybe that’s why he’s so close to his mom – she tours with him, makes public appearances with him and actually makes sure he doesn’t let fame go to his head.

Having four kids and a successful TV career to juggle, no wonder that Heidi Klum is so close to her mom Erna – she’s always there to help with the kids. But turns out close family ties have always been common in the Klum family.

Some people think it’s strange that we go on holiday with my parents or that they were at the births of our children, but we don’t think it’s strange at all,” Heidi Klum said in one of her interviews. “Maybe it’s a small-town mentality, but we’re very close. My husband calls her my ‘blond angel’ in German.”

From his childhood and up to now Justin Timberlake has always been very close to his mom Lynne. She helped him start his career as she was the one to notice his talents, and later became his manager.

Jennifer Garner has always been close to her family, and particularly mom Patricia. Jennifer says her mom is always “full of good advice” and usually knows what to do and what to say to encourage her daughter.

Garner also says her mom is a peace-maker if Jen and Ben Affleck have an argument and usually knows what’s best for the kids.

Both Gwyneth and her mom Blythe Danner are actresses so they have a lot to share besides close family ties. Gwyneth says her mom is very wise and is always there to give her daughter a good piece of career advice:

She told me not to let all the outside stuff in the business permeate my life and to stay above the fray,” Gwyneth Paltrow said. “None of us read anything written about us-we don’t even read the reviews. You try to stay as true to the work as you can and let the other stuff just wash over you.”

Kim Kardashian and her sisters Khloe and Kourtney are very close to their mom Kris Jenner. But for her we would have never been able to keep up with the Kardashians.

Just like her daughters, Kris is a reality TV star and a socialite. I won’t be surprised to know she stands behind many of her daughters’ projects as she’s always full of ideas and has her opinion about everything in the world, including the girls’ boyfriends/husbands.

It’s probably due to their tender age (Willow is 10 and Jaden Smith is 12) that mom Jada Pinkett Smith plays such an important role in their lives. Besides just being their mom, she’s a producer, manager and adviser. She’s everything for her famous kids (though she denies being “a pushy mom”).

Just like with Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson and her mom Goldie Hawn are both actresses famous for their comic skills. But success in the movie business is not the thing that brings them so close – for Kate, Goldie is more than just a role model and “the epitome of beauty”, she’s an example of a good mother. Kate, who has a 7-year-old son Ryder and is expecting her second child later this year, definitely needs a good example right now.
