This year, June 27th is the date for concert dedicated to Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday, the Nobel Prize nominee for peace and former president of the Republic of South Africa.
Hyde Park, London will host grand show featuring Annie Lennox, Stevie Wonder, Razorlight and Queen. Brian May, Queen’s guitar player and the organizer of the charity concert, has convinced controversial rapper Eminem to take part in this historical event.
According to The Sun, Marshal Mathers (rapper’s real name) has confirmed to perform. This will be an exciting comeback since 2005 when he officially stopped performing on public. A source tells British newspaper:
We’re amazed to have Eminem on board. We wanted some of the greatest artists from recent times and Eminem was on the list. Brian (May) contacted Eminem’s management on the off-chance and never expected him to go for it. It’s going to be explosive stuff and it’s certainly a big stage to make his comeback.”
U2, Spice Girls and Paul McCartney are also expected to join the gig.
