Demi Lovato checks into treatment center, seeks professional help, deletes Twitter account

One of the most level-headed young celebrities from the Disney family, Demi Lovato has dropped out of the Jonas Brothers world tour, deleted her Twitter account and checked into a treatment facility to seek professional help.

According to Demi’s rep, Lovato has been dealing with certain “emotional and physical issues” recently and has now decided to ask for help.

Demi Lovato’s rep has released the statement via TMZ:

Demi Lovato left her tour early this weekend in order to seek medical treatment for emotional and physical issues she has dealt with for some time. Demi has decided to take personal responsibility for her actions and seek help. She is doing just that. Demi and her family ask that the media please respect their privacy during this difficult time. She regrets not being able to finish her tour, but is looking forward to getting back to work in the near future.”

Different sources mention different reasons for the rehab check in.

Some like ONTD.com, claim Demi is battling drug and alcohol addiction. (Demi Lovato’s rep has denies this claim.)

Others blame eating disorders:

She was bullied in school. She fought through eating disorders and has struggled with cutting. Demi is taking control by getting help,” friend of the family told People.

The rest just say that Demi’s super hectic touring schedule and certain emotional stresses (like, for example, Demi and her ex Joe Jonas are touring together after breaking up months ago) have finally taken their toll on her.

It’s difficult growing up in the public eye,” Demi Lovato said in her recent interview. “You’re a teenager and you’re making mistakes and figuring out who you are, but there is a camera on you with a magnifying glass. It’s a part of it, I asked for this it’s my dream. You just have to deal with it.”

Well, just hope it’s really not drugs. Would be sad to see Demi end up like Lindsay Lohan.

Whatever the reason, hope to see Demi back to work some time very soon.
