Celebs raise more than $58m for Haiti!
The huge Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief telethon raised more than $58 million in 24 hours!
The record breaking event was held to support the good cause on January 22th with brightest and biggest stars taking part to raise money for the victims of the disastrous quake that struck Haiti on January 12, 2010.
Adding to the staggering $58m, Hope for Haiti Now album has become the “biggest one-day album pre-order in iTunes history”, so the sales will later be added to the total sum raised along with corporate and large private donations.
All the money raised during the next six months will be donated to Oxfam America, Partners in Health, Red Cross, UNICEF, United Nations World Food Programme, Yele Haiti Foundation, and the Clinton-Bush Haiti Foundation, AceShowbiz.com revealed.
Your donations are welcome at hopeforhaitinow.org. You can also call 877-99-HAITI or text GIVE to 50555.
FYI, more huge charity gigs to support Haitian victims are in the works!
