Beyonce Speaks Out On Inauguration Perfomance Controversy
Beyonce Responds To Inauguration Controversy
Beyonce spoke out about the inauguration performance controversy at the press conference prior to Super Bowl show. The singer said that she didn’t have time to rehearse with the orchestra and thus decided to sing along with the pre-recorded tracks and added that she was proud of her performance.
After her inauguration performance of the national anthem Beyonce was criticised for lip-synching and her performance was scrutinized by sound experts who later posted a video where the sound feed from the camera showed that Beyonce was in fact singing along with her pre-recorded track.
The singer said to the press:
Well, I am a perfectionist. And one thing about me, I practice until my feet bleed and I did not have time to rehearse with the orchestra. It was a live television show, and a very very important emotional show for me. One of my proudest moments. And due to the weather, due to the delay, due to no proper soundcheck I did not feel comfortable taking a risk. It was about the President and the inauguration and I wanted to make him and my country proud. So I decided to sing along with my pre-recorded track, which is very common in the music industry. And I’m very proud of my, my performance.
But prior to clearing things up Beyonce sang the Star Sprangled Banner live without no support or music after which she said: “Any questions?”.
Beyonce continued the press conference speaking about the Super Bowl:
I will absolutely be singing live, I am well-rehearsed. And I will absolutely be singing live. This is what I was born to do, what I’m born for.
I’ve had a 16 year career and all of the things that I’ve done have prepared me for this, so I’m ready.
The journalists asked the former Desinty’s Child bandmember if the trio will be reunited during the Super Bowl performance following the reunion rumors to which Beyonce responded that she cannot give away any details.
