Angelina Jolie wants law to protect celebrity kids from paparazzi

Angelina Jolie knows what it’s like to grow up in the spotlight. She’s gone through it in her childhood and now she sees her own six kids do the same – it comes as no surprise when their parents are some of Hollywood’s most famous actors Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. In her interview with Larry King Angelina said she wanted there to be a law to protect celebrity children from paparazzi.

I do think and I do hope that there will at some point be laws about how close they can get to children with cameras,” Angelina Jolie told Larry King. “Because I think at some point it’s going to be clearer that it’s emotionally not healthy. And with long lenses, there’s no need. I would like there to be a law about the distance they have to children. Something simple and practical.”

Talking about her own experience dealing with paparazzi, Jolie said her main goal was to show her kids that there was nothing scary about photographers and that they were just doing their job, nothing more.

We just have to kind of smile and say, ‘Don’t worry, it’s not scary, they just like to take pictures’.” Angelina, whose kids Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh and twins Knox and Vivienne are aged 9, 7, 5, 4, and 2, respectively, explained to Larry King. “As a parent, the only thing you can do is try to make sure they don’t feel it’s a threat, you don’t act like it’s a threat, and you just keep smiling so they don’t feel anything negative.”

Photographing celebrity kids must be a big problem in Hollywood. Angelina Jolie’s partner Brad Pitt has said he has no respect for snappers who call out kids’ name to attract their attention.

Meanwhile, bride-to-be Nicole Richie has even filed for a restraining order against a celebrity photographer who’s been stalking her daughter Harlow to get a picture of hers. Nicole has banned him from coming near her daughter.
