Amy Winehouse is more of an alcoholic than ever

Sad news for all Amy Winehouse fans.

Though we all hoped staying at St. Lucia would do Amy good and help her battle her addictions, seems like things aren’t going that well at all.

According to British sources, though divorcing soul genius has indeed battled drugs addiction, she’s developed a new one, it’s alcohol this time.

Amy regularly does six shots of tequila a day and can hardly do without a sip already in the morning.

Even her parents are ready to give up.

After she almost died twice, to see her walking, smiling . . . she has progressed so much,” Amy’s dad, Mitch, said. “But now, if it’s alcohol instead of hard drugs – I don’t think I can go through the same thing again. I’ve decided to distance myself, and whatever happens, happens. It’s her life and it’s her decision. I’ll always be there for Amy, always have been and always will be.”

Amy’s mom, who, unlike Mitch, has never been so optimistic about her daughter getting absolutely clean, said it was Amy and nobody but Amy to change things for the better.

It’s another demon she has to beat,” she said. “She came off drugs on her own, so I know she’ll stop drinking so much, too. It has to be her decision, though. No one else can stop her.”

Winehouse’s record company Universal Records has spent an eye-watering sum on arranging a studio in one of Amy’s villas on the island but the singer hardly ever gets down to work, and the songs she’s already recorded for her third album has been considered raw, so Universal Records asked her to do them all over again.

One of the reasons to explain the situation is that Amy’s still very emotional about divorcing Blake Civil claiming that she still loves him after all he’s done.

We’re still in love, though. I do love him. But guess what? He’s having a baby now and I’m so, so happy. My baby is having a baby!” she said about Blake’s lovechild with a woman he met while in the rehab. “I couldn’t have given him kids – and anyway I want black kids, not white kids.”

So the question is if Amy is still able to create something as fresh, genius and award-winning as her Back to Black. And what’s more important, how far down the spiral will her new addiction take her this time around?
