A mediocre singer judges American Idol
Kind of doubtful it’ll help her hit big in the US.
Victoria Beckham (and we should all praise her for courage) has always said she’s not a good singer, at least not a genius and remarkable one to choose singing as her major career.
Paraphrasing Bernard Shaw I’d say “He who can, does. He who cannot, judges.”
Victoria Beckham agreed to make a guest appearance on American Idol as a judge, temporarily replacing Paula Abdul, her rep confirmed.
Yesterday morning, Idol host Ryan Seacrest revealed that Victoria will be judging today’s auditions in Denver, Colorado.
According to the source, Beckham doesn’t see American Idol judging panel as something she wants to be a part of permanently. She’s focused on her designer career and gets ready for New York Fashion Week this September to present her latest fashion collection.
You’ll see Viki in the ninth season of the top rating show in January 2010.
Previously, Posh Spice was invited to guest judge on Project Runway.
This news comes just days after it was announced Paula Abdul who’s been judging American Idol for all the eight years left the project because she wanted a greater raise in her annual salary than the channel was ready to go for.
UPDATE: Victoria isn’t the only A-list guest judge for the new season. Katy Perry will also join the panel, Fox Entertainment Chairman Peter Rice has confirmed.
