Scary picture, right?

As some reviews say, the Full Battle Rattle film, opening at New York film Forum tomorrow, is like a practice piece until you can handle the real documentary about the Iraq War. Full Battle Rattle is more like a simulation of a documentary about the Iraq War than an actual example. It’s all about simulation here, actually.

Full Battle Rattle is the story of a real war and a fake town. In California’s Mojave Desert the US army has built “a virtual Iraq”, a billion dollar urban warfare simulation (formerly known as the National Training Center at Fort Irwin), and populated it with hundreds of Iraqi role-players. Army units spend three weeks inside the simulation before deploying to Iraq. The film follows the army through the simulation.

A new read for the younger generation of kinda SATC type of girls. Lauren Weisberger has done an excellent job with Devil Wears Prada, but this one I’m not so sure… I have a feeling it will be just better than ok. I liked the three girls’ characters, enjoy their description and learning about the character makes one decide whether she or he wants to read the book or not.

The pages practically turn themselves.”

New York Daily News

Emmy is newly single, and not by choice. She was this close to the ring and the baby she’s wanted her whole life when her boyfriend left her for his twenty-three-year-old personal trainer—whose fees are paid by Emmy. With her plans for the perfect white wedding in the trash, Emmy is now ordering takeout for one. Her friends insist an around-the-world sex-fueled adventure will solve all her problems—could they be right?

Leigh, a young star in the publishing business, is within striking distance of landing her dream job as senior editor and marrying her dream guy. And to top it all off, she has just purchased her dream apartment. Only when Leigh begins to edit the enfant terrible of the literary world, the brilliant and brooding Jesse Chapman, does she start to notice some cracks in her perfect life…

Adriana is the drop-dead-gorgeous daughter of a famous supermodel. She possesses the kind of feminine wiles made only in Brazil, and she never hesitates to use them. But she’s about to turn thirty and—as her mother keeps reminding her—she won’t have her pick of the men forever. Everyone knows beauty is ephemeral and there’s always someone younger and prettier right around the corner. Suddenly she’s wondering…does Mother know best?

These three very different girls have been best friends for a decade in the greatest city on earth. As they near thirty, they’re looking toward their future…but despite all they’ve earned—first-class travel, career promotions, invites to all the right parties, and luxuries small and large—they’re not quite sure they like what they see…

One Saturday night at the Waverly Inn, Adriana and Emmy make a pact: within a single year, each will drastically change her life. Leigh watches from the sidelines, not making any promises, but she’ll soon discover she has the most to lose. Their friendship is forever, but everything else is on the table. Three best friends. Two resolutions. One year to pull it off.

P.S. And if a movie will follow the book, who do you think will star? , and ?

The Wackness premiering July 3 brings us back. But it’s none of those silly Olsen flicks we watched before. The film captures the spell of 1994, a time of pagers, not cell phones; a time when and Biggie were alive but had just died.

The Wackness is an offbeat tale of two lost souls stumbling towards maturity. The movie centers upon a troubled high school student Luke Shapiro (Josh Peck), a teenage pot dealer who makes friends with Dr. Jeffrey Squires (Ben Kingsley), a psychiatrist. When the doctor proposes Luke trade him weed for therapy sessions, the two begin to explore both New York City and their own depression.

It might seem strange but it’s true. Wall E opened with $62.5 million in ticket sales making Wanted rank second this past weekend making $51.1 million. According to the AP, Wall-E drew moviegoers of all ages.

But… according to other stats provided by Perez Hilton, Wanted can still be considered huge success as it was the biggest opening of an action film in Jolie’s career; as it turned out to be the best June opening ever for an R-rated movie, beating Knocked Up’s $30.6m, and the 6th highest R-rated opening of all time.

Besides, the studio expected only a $35m-something opening, so the film did much better than anticipated. And finally, Angie proved she is a big draw: Cinemascore said the main reasons given for choosing to see Wanted were the action (67%) and Jolie (61%).

Last week Lindsay was playing baseball for her new movie Labor Pains and on Monday she was swapping a few really sexy outfits as she was filming in Hollywood.

In Labor Pains plays a publishing house employee who escapes getting fired by pretending to be pregnant.

Here’s what Lilo said in the Fashionistas interview to TimesOnline:

Q: How do you think people perceive you from the way you dress?

A: What you wear can tell a thousand stories. But those stories aren’t always correct. If I’m wearing something sloppy, people always think something bad is going on. But if I’m in heels and a great top, suddenly I’m back on board again.”

Q: What is a fashion Day in the Life of ?

A: I’ve been filming and trying to dodge the paparazzi. They can be distracting, but I like being on set.”

I totally agree with Lindsay, what you wear is how people get their impression of you. Get up and put on something really nice. Let the world see you shine!

And by the way, Lindsay has been getting better in coming back to track.

In the recent interview to People magazine, the Labor Pains film producer Lati Grobman offered her praises:

She’s so natural at what she does. I’ve never seen one take where she’s off. The difference between her and the other girls that are naughty in the business is that she’s actually talented.

It’s not [like] and the rest of them. We took the chance. It’s good that we did. So far, so good.”

June 27 is remarkable because of several reasons. Firstly, my big sis is getting married and I’m hosting the wedding, but it’s personal.

Secondly, Wanted and Wall-E premiere this day. It’s gonna be a great Friday.

No use to talk about Wanted as I’ve already said much about it. Let’s check Wall-E. It’s created by Finding Nemo creators and tells us a story about the last robot on earth in year 2700. The robot is tasked with cleaning up the planet after humanity has trashed and abandoned it. He spends every day doing what he was made for. But soon, he discovers what he was meant for.

Check the trailer, and don’t forget to watch the flick on Friday.

Miss Provocateur

  • Stirring things up!

  • Did you ever provoke a fight with your guy? You love getting on his nerves because that makes him so obscure and funny – “cute” so we say. No, you’re not sadistic. Just the fact that after the make up, it feels so sweet to be the conqueror- to have the feeling of power! To feel the situation is under your control - to cause a fight and then to stop it. Isn’t it just so dramatically sweet to push the edges once in a while?

I love pushing his triggers. Some may think I’m an evil witch, but I’m simply making our relationship tempered, exciting, resolute, pert.

If you intentionally get into a fight with him – you are not sick in a head (and no, you’re not just a bitch). Scientists say that a healthy relationship is a relationship where there are arguments, and any argument needs a solution, right? That takes out our negative energy and brings us closer.

  • Breaking Rules

  • No matter how obvious it sounds most of the rules have been created long before us. By rules I mean systematized experience of previous generations, like handshakes and etiquette, and things like going for a social smoke. There is a rule that ladies go in first into any door except the elevator.

But rules are a need for the sense of stability around one. Society needs rules to forecast the effect of a cause, to have at least some confidence of the future. And this is what disappoints people. This is when they lose their confidence because things appear not the way they expected them to be. Those who were really dependent on expectations suffer from facing the world that is unpredictable, that the rules they believed in didn’t work at some turning point.

So they say that only fools learn through their own mistakes. Don’t you remember your mom telling you not to stick your tong out and put it against the metallic balcony railing when it’s freezing cold outside? Why did I skip my SPSS class with that macho from senior class? All of my friends were telling me he was a player and had nothing else in his head except for getting laid. Why do we learn things only after we go through them? This is what humans are like.

  • Be what You want to Be

  • What do you call it when you feel something against your will? When the call of that something inside you starts ripping your self - esteem in pieces while your consciousness tells you to stop.

I never had it when I was a child.

I always felt what I wanted and I always wanted that what I felt.

Being used to getting what I want I am stuck. Stuck in the position like being lost in the desert. There’s nowhere to go. I can’t deny what I feel but I also can’t afford to feel it. It’s against my beliefs and values. Hum… fuck the beliefs. I don’t care.

No more. The human mind is such control-freak. It kills me. And if I continue it will sound like a confession to you and this is the least I want to do.

  • Sex Agenda

  • Inspired by “fuck” conversation last Saturday, which is a very delicate subject.

All of us, living in a fast growing temper of big cities are busy. We go to work, go to college full time, or have kids to take care of. There are plenty of things to do. When crazy week days are over we have yoga or tango classes, and shopping to do aside the chorus, french classes and getting a good sleep.

When is there time for sex?

The right answer would be - there is always time for sex. But the stress and busyness lead some couples to pencil their intimacy. It is logical, simple and hot to know that your schedule after works has a mark “Ryan 8 pm”. It is exciting to feel the anticipation, but on the other hand do we feel it is comfortable to set up our special moments with an important person for us on a basis of a scheduled task? It seems awkward to plan it, it is out of style, especially for femme-fatale like me, but even when sex is spontaneous, in every woman's head it is always planned. (wink!)

  • Barefoot

  • I remember one rainy morning when I was sitting on the backseat of my Mercedes. My driver picked me up earlier than the usual. I wasn’t mad at him, no. I thought it was great so I could get to the office earlier than the usual. But when I got into the car I asked him if we could drive around for a bit. I like rain. I wanted to go to the park and have a cup of espresso at the patio outside the café on the bridge.

I asked him to wait for me and he walked me carrying the umbrella. I hate it cause when he does it he always sings “Under my umbrella, ella-ella-ella…” Rihanna’s song, you know. It’s cute but he makes me smile and I don’t like that. He’s my driver. That’s it. He’s supposed to take me where I want, not make me smile.
