HBO has set premiere dates for two new series this fall. The drama True Blood, a vampire show from Six Feet Under creator Alan Ball, is scheduled to premiere Sept. 7

True Blood, based on a series of novels by Charlene Harris, is set in a world where vampires have come out into the open, thanks to the development of synthetic blood that allows them to survive without feeding on humans. It stars Anna Paquin from X-Men as Sookie Stackhouse, a mind-reading waitress who’s drawn to a vampire (Stephen Moyer, The Starter Wife) who arrives in her small Louisiana town.

Whatever! I think both Jennifer’s Body and True Blood suck.

Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins teaser - trailer was unleashed to the Web sometime Wednesday afternoon, ahead of its bow on the big screen in front of The Dark Knight.

“This is not the future my mother warned me about,” says (American Psycho) as Connor, and we get a handful of apocalyptic shots of the Earth and a brief, PG-13-friendly explosion. McG (Charlie’s Angels) will direct the upcoming Terminator Salvation, which is set in postwar 2018 and follows Connor as he leads the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators.

The trailer goes for a radio-static effect, and we get a human skull being smashed. But before you think you’ve seen that before, it’s a human foot that’s turning bone to dust this time around,” writes LA Times. Watch the hot trailer by clicking below.

Here are some quotes from Visual Effects Supervisor Charles Gibson on his role in the making of the film:

Prior to Terminator Salvation, I worked on all three Pirates movies. Those worlds and characters were from a different time and place and had to be completely fabricated. This film plays in an altered but plausible version of our world. We’re primarily concerned with bringing the Terminator elements home, to make you believe this reality could be just around the corner. It’s a very different sort of challenge.

McG’s take is to weave science fiction and horror elements into a state-of-the-art action film: The camera always moves, the imagery is raw and kinetic, the pace is insane. The creative challenge for me will be to bury the effects into the photography but to still protect our big visual moments.

Before Terminator 2: Judgment Day, visual effects films were frequently driven by technology — you worked with what you had. With The Abyss and especially with Terminator 2: Judgment Day, James Cameron showed us that concept rules: When the director has a compelling new vision, the technology will follow. Cameron opened that gate for other filmmakers who in turn have pushed the visual effects industry in new directions.

We’ve been waiting to see this world for years — it’s only been glimpsed and hinted at in the previous Terminator movies. We’re able to revisit the elements that have been established, but we’re going to be adding a whole lot more.”

Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, starring , Sam Worthington, Anton Yelchin, Bryce Dallas Howard, Moon Bloodgood, Common, Jadagrace and Helena Bonham Carter, opens in theaters on May 22, 2009.

The Dark Knight is a long awaited and a pretty sad premier. The follow-up to 2005’s hit Batman Begins, The Dark Knight is said to prove to be one of 2008’s highest grossing summer blockbusters. The Dark Knight is on starting July 18.

returns to take on the Joker and Two-Face, two of the comic’s most brutal and unpredictable villains. The film is worth watching because of several reasons and one of them is that it’s the last film (The Joker) starred in before he prematurely died in January this year.

Sadly, Heath is not with us any longer. But he will asways remain in our hearts.

Among other July 18th big movie premieres there are:

Mamma Mia! is a stage musical based comedy with a really all-star cast. Meryl Streep is the mama, and , Colin Firth or Stellan Skarsgard might be the daddies in this movie about a bride’s search for her real dad. The film is set to ABBA music. But that’s not the main reason I wanna see it. The real worthwhile reason is Maryl Streep’s acrobatic feats. She’s 59, I wish I’ll be able to do such things when I’m 59.

The film seems like fun. At least the play has always been a success.

Space Chimps is a talking-monkey comedy about Ham III who comes from a proud lineage of chimp astronauts, and who is the prime candidate for a special mission for an opportunity-seeking Senator. His mission involves taking down an evil overlord of a far-away planet.

The comedy features the voices of Patrick Warburton, Cheryl Hines, and Kristen Chenoweth.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army is the sequel to Guillermo del Toro’s comic book adaptation of 2004, with , John Hurt and Thomas Kretschmann.

This time Hellboy and the BPRD must stop an uprising that threatens the border between our world and the invisible realm.

Classic never gets old. and star in this updating of the Jules Verne classic tale Journey to the Center of the Earth. A scientist named Trevor (), his nephew Sean, and their mountain guide stumble upon a mysterious and wonderful lost world located at the center of the earth.

It must be fun – cause it’s 3-D! Don’t forget your glasses at home.

In Meet Dave plays an alien space ship that basically looks like a human being and walks the Earth. It’s commanded by a crew of miniature aliens. Their mission is to save their home planet, but the tiny aliens encounter a whole new world of problems, as Starship Dave falls in love with an Earth woman.

Scary picture, right?

As some reviews say, the Full Battle Rattle film, opening at New York film Forum tomorrow, is like a practice piece until you can handle the real documentary about the Iraq War. Full Battle Rattle is more like a simulation of a documentary about the Iraq War than an actual example. It’s all about simulation here, actually.

Full Battle Rattle is the story of a real war and a fake town. In California’s Mojave Desert the US army has built “a virtual Iraq”, a billion dollar urban warfare simulation (formerly known as the National Training Center at Fort Irwin), and populated it with hundreds of Iraqi role-players. Army units spend three weeks inside the simulation before deploying to Iraq. The film follows the army through the simulation.

A new read for the younger generation of kinda SATC type of girls. Lauren Weisberger has done an excellent job with Devil Wears Prada, but this one I’m not so sure… I have a feeling it will be just better than ok. I liked the three girls’ characters, enjoy their description and learning about the character makes one decide whether she or he wants to read the book or not.

The pages practically turn themselves.”

New York Daily News

Emmy is newly single, and not by choice. She was this close to the ring and the baby she’s wanted her whole life when her boyfriend left her for his twenty-three-year-old personal trainer—whose fees are paid by Emmy. With her plans for the perfect white wedding in the trash, Emmy is now ordering takeout for one. Her friends insist an around-the-world sex-fueled adventure will solve all her problems—could they be right?

Leigh, a young star in the publishing business, is within striking distance of landing her dream job as senior editor and marrying her dream guy. And to top it all off, she has just purchased her dream apartment. Only when Leigh begins to edit the enfant terrible of the literary world, the brilliant and brooding Jesse Chapman, does she start to notice some cracks in her perfect life…

Adriana is the drop-dead-gorgeous daughter of a famous supermodel. She possesses the kind of feminine wiles made only in Brazil, and she never hesitates to use them. But she’s about to turn thirty and—as her mother keeps reminding her—she won’t have her pick of the men forever. Everyone knows beauty is ephemeral and there’s always someone younger and prettier right around the corner. Suddenly she’s wondering…does Mother know best?

These three very different girls have been best friends for a decade in the greatest city on earth. As they near thirty, they’re looking toward their future…but despite all they’ve earned—first-class travel, career promotions, invites to all the right parties, and luxuries small and large—they’re not quite sure they like what they see…

One Saturday night at the Waverly Inn, Adriana and Emmy make a pact: within a single year, each will drastically change her life. Leigh watches from the sidelines, not making any promises, but she’ll soon discover she has the most to lose. Their friendship is forever, but everything else is on the table. Three best friends. Two resolutions. One year to pull it off.

P.S. And if a movie will follow the book, who do you think will star? , and ?

  • Breaking Rules

  • No matter how obvious it sounds most of the rules have been created long before us. By rules I mean systematized experience of previous generations, like handshakes and etiquette, and things like going for a social smoke. There is a rule that ladies go in first into any door except the elevator.

But rules are a need for the sense of stability around one. Society needs rules to forecast the effect of a cause, to have at least some confidence of the future. And this is what disappoints people. This is when they lose their confidence because things appear not the way they expected them to be. Those who were really dependent on expectations suffer from facing the world that is unpredictable, that the rules they believed in didn’t work at some turning point.

So they say that only fools learn through their own mistakes. Don’t you remember your mom telling you not to stick your tong out and put it against the metallic balcony railing when it’s freezing cold outside? Why did I skip my SPSS class with that macho from senior class? All of my friends were telling me he was a player and had nothing else in his head except for getting laid. Why do we learn things only after we go through them? This is what humans are like.

  • Sex Agenda

  • Inspired by “fuck” conversation last Saturday, which is a very delicate subject.

All of us, living in a fast growing temper of big cities are busy. We go to work, go to college full time, or have kids to take care of. There are plenty of things to do. When crazy week days are over we have yoga or tango classes, and shopping to do aside the chorus, french classes and getting a good sleep.

When is there time for sex?

The right answer would be - there is always time for sex. But the stress and busyness lead some couples to pencil their intimacy. It is logical, simple and hot to know that your schedule after works has a mark “Ryan 8 pm”. It is exciting to feel the anticipation, but on the other hand do we feel it is comfortable to set up our special moments with an important person for us on a basis of a scheduled task? It seems awkward to plan it, it is out of style, especially for femme-fatale like me, but even when sex is spontaneous, in every woman's head it is always planned. (wink!)

I asked him to wait for me and he walked me carrying the umbrella. I hate it cause when he does it he always sings “Under my umbrella, ella-ella-ella…” Rihanna’s song, you know.
