Formerly known as Posh Spice Victoria Beckham has launched her dress collection during the on going New York Fashion Week and, believe it or not, it is one of the hottest runways this week.

Her debut collection of frocks is a success! The 10 dresses appear both curiously wearable and really rather fetching.

Her Ready To Wear Spring 2009 silhouettes are beyond body-conscious. They are ultra fitted for super skinny women tall or not so, but for sure slim - is the body to wear her below the knee dresses. Each of which comes with a woman-friendly detail as a rose-gold back zipper, meaning no messy hair. Also very delicate special seams along the derriere and torso ensure against flat rear ends and busts, which are common to slim silhouettes.

For a dramatizing posture Beckham comes up with a grosgrain ribbon lining the waist. Nicole Phelps says that collection owes a debt to Roland Mouret, “whose Galaxy dress gave curves to even the most skeletal of celebrities, or maybe Dolce & Gabbana.”

But Victoria denies the inspiration:

This has been a lifetime in the making. I don’t want to make dresses that will date. I’ve always been about clever buying.”

By the end of the day Victoria Beckham is an entrepreneur to be taken seriously. dVb denim and sunglasses, her fragrance, etc. But her sheaths and shift dresses will sell not on the power of her or her name but on the sophistication of their cut and fit.

I’ve been working on this for 34 years. I always wanted to be a fashion designer. Then along came the Spice Girls. I was never going to be the world’s best singer, but I hope I can be a good designer.”

The dresses range from $1,500 to $3,600.

”Structure – is a very important word to describe my collection,” said young designer. She was spotted with J Lo at the front row for Marc Jacobs‘ runway.

I love Vicky Becks again, especially her smoky, gothic eyes and a brand new brunette, elfin, spiky crop.

Agent Provocateur presents new collection of super provocative mystique underwear line Season Of The Witch.

Peaches Geldof reveals her fruity side in a new advert for Agent Provocateur where the scantily-clad star seductively dangles a cherry over a female model’s mouth.

Shot by fashion photographer and good friend of the world’s most leading underwear brand Tim Bret Day, the inspiration behind The Season Of The Witch is the work by Paul de la Roche; the execution of Lady Gray - mixed with the Massacre of the Innocents by Peter Paul Rubens.

Check out the official site for some interesting symbolism (all the horns, the crystal ball, the crowned skull, the serpent, the apple/pomegranate, pentagram, mask etc.), it’s all obviously very perverse and decadent (occultism tends to breed depravity), and with things like “Follow the Virgin?” Note! Blond virgin about to be killed in a blood sacrifice, by cutting the throat and “Join us - Become a slave?” in it’s interactive feature thing.

Barack Obama inspired celebrity handbag designer Timmy Woods to create a handbag based on the signs used by his campaign at rallies and speeches, Usmagazine.com reported Friday. Designer plans to give the first bag to the senator’s wife, Michelle.

“I hope she will get it in time to wear to the convention [next week],” the designer said.

According to the reports, the bag is made from Acacia Wood. Part of the money raised from its sales will go to charity.

Timmy Woods is famous for his extraordinary and fantastic handbags. It was he to design bags for Sex and the City, remember that Carrie Bradshaw’s Eiffel Tower bag?

One more girl in the list of celebs turned-designers.

All give it up for Janet Jackson! She’s teamed up with Australian fashion designer Bruno Schiav to launch a line of lingerie called Pleasure Principle. The name is inspired by her 1987 tune, according to Us Weekly.

“There’s something for every woman, and that’s very important to us. I’ve always hated when lingerie is uncomfortable, so the fit and comfort was key,” Jackson said in the interview.

The collection is said to be all under $40 featuring Chantilly lace and satin and rich colors like burgundy as well as offering various bra styles.

Janet said lingerie was her real passion, comparing it to music and acting, and saying she was hands-on during designing working until late at night. Her creations will hit shops in November.

Christian Siriano might be showing his regular collection on September 11 during New York Fashion Week but he’s already busy with the new project under way. He’s teamed up with Moody Mamas maternity clothes founders Marta Abrams and Elise Rosemarin to create a maternity collection called Fierce for Moody Mamas by Christian Siriano. The collection will be launched in spring 2009.

What I just love about the news is what Moody Mommas say about the whole deal. A Moody Mamas rep told New York he signed on because he thought it would be great for a gay man to team up with two women who’ve never had a baby to do maternity clothes. That’s a pretty reasonable reason, don’t you think?

So in case you’re gonna be pregnant this coming spring it’s probable you’ll have some stuff designed by Project Runway winner added to your maternity wardrobe.
