Bobs with Bang

The hottest of the 2008 is definitely the bob. It started last year and has transferred to more precision cut. It looks fierce when coupled with smooth and sleek styling and heaps of shine. Kate Moss introduced us to a blunt fringe. Fringe was popular the last two years and to be honest it got old and every other girl who wears it looks the same. But this blunt fringe is totally different in the way that it gives a slight boldness to your look.

Well, trendy and stylish still it must suit you. Your bob should be carefully crafted to accentuate your facial structure and highlight long amazing neck. It is also best for straight or slightly wavy hair. If yours is curly don’t go bob.

The length varies from as short as to ear level to shoulder skimming. To look different once in a while, style your bob in the mod style and you will kick ass this spring and summer! Just remember, each bob needs to look unique.

Mad For Mod

This is my favorite! Swept bangs and blunt lines are the main asset of this cut. It is similar to a bob, but the generous amount of slicing lightens up the bluntness. Your mod hair will be mod and hip if you style it directing your hair around the head from the crown or a deep side part. It is called swooping motion. But do not overdo the grungy and funky, or you’ll end up looking too emo.

Now, if you have long hair and like looking touchy-feely but cool at the same time, go for peaks, swirls, and waves. Style them as if your hair naturally dried from the fresh spring wind. After washing your hair, first use wax or other styling product of your choice and only after blow dry it a little. This season make it look more creative and artful instead of chasing perfection.

It’s high time we discussed the main makeup trends this season. Don’t think anybody wants to be left behind and look pale and unstylish when going out with her man or just partying with her girlfriends. These are the tips you can use when choosing makeup products and putting on makeup this season.

So what’s new we’re having these spring and summer? First of all, forget about pale colors. Spring makeup is all about color: everything is bright and lively.

Eyes

As for eye makeup, spring’s eye shadows have a colorful layering effect, using brights like purple , neon green and blue to pop neutral gold, taupe, grey and bronze shadows. The overall effect is very art school confidential. Looks terrific, you should try it yourself.

Gold is the new taupe

Use it blended lightly at inner corner and under eyes, you don’t even have to use mascara. There are two ways you can use gold shade to produce two different effects: when paired with dark lips it gives a fresh spring face; when used with pale lips , you’ve got warm weather grunge.

Both ways look fresh and cute, but again pay attention to your skin color, sometimes gold can really make you look too pale.

Another trend is layering slightly different shades of one color. Mix dark and smoky plums and violets with pale pastels like lilac and lavender to create a vibrant and beautiful look. Remember eyes must attract attention, so you can focus on them rather than lipstick in this case.

In case you’re planning a night out use a black, dark blue, or charcoal eyeliner or pencil to add some drama to your eyes. Just filling in the lower and upper inner rim you’ll make your eyes look smoky and sultry.

Pink Lips

When choosing a pink lipstick, use your skin as a guide to avoid makeup mistakes. Those with pink tones should go for a blue-based pink. Yellow tones require a warmer, browner shade. You can choose the one with a sheer, glossy texture if you’re shy or not completely sure about your pick. You can apply two coats of the color to make your lips sparkle pink.

Lips like candy

The two big lip looks are sweet shades of matte pink and glossy coral . As mentioned above, pink shades might range from bubble gum to blue-pink, and glossy fresh. It’s the opposite for coral lips.

Experts advise to use a lip liner along that matches your lips, not the lipstick. Be sure to use a sheer, creamy liner, they say, adding that a dry, highly pigmented formula will create an “artificial, sharp-looking edge.”

Without much effort you can make your pout shine with a gorgeous coral gloss. You can also wear coral gloss alone for a sheer, fresh faced look.

Robyn Cosio, makeup artist at Salon Maxime in Beverly Hills, says,

Nothing should look heavy if you are wearing a coral lip. The look is light and fresh so the rest of your makeup should complement that.”

So using bold lip and eye shadow colors you’d better complement them with pastel blushes (when necessary). Remember the core is to find the right color matching your skin and personality. Don’t be afraid to experiment, be bold, and don’t miss your chance to shine!

Agent Kate is back in the agency. She is modeling the new line of the most sophisticated lingerie house Agent Provocateur.

Last year Kate Moss lost her contract because of the strained relationship with Serena Rees – the co-owner. But so it is, the agency won’t make it without her. She is invited to front a new line.

Gwen Stefani has revealed she dreams of having her own beauty line one day. The singer, who is due to release her perfume range Harajuku Lovers this autumn wants to expand further into the cosmetic market, reported FemaleFirst recently. The singer said:

I would love to have a full L.A.M.B. beauty line one day. It makes sense. I’ve always loved doing my hair and makeup and getting all dressed up. When I have a party or an event to go to, getting ready is just as much fun as actually going out.”

As for her perfume line, I can say that Harajuku Lovers is to be made up of five different fragrances based on Gwen and her four dancers Love, Angel, Music and Baby.

“I didn’t think this project would actually come to life,” Stefani added. Gwen confessed she was delighted to find out she had a chance to do five different fragrances for Harajuku Lovers.

It really had to be five, because that’s what the world is.”

Sounds profound and philosophic.

“Each girl has her own personality and sense of style. We’re all saying something different with unique personalities,” Gwen concluded, according to the source.

Posh Spice girl Victoria Beckham is doing a commercial for Mark Jacobs. She poses lying in the foetal position sucking on her thumb. She is dressed in multicolored bizarre maxi dress and her hands are covered in bright yellow gloves. The huge shades are her own trademark this, I would say, is the only thing that is in-style on this picture. Awful!

To me those yellow gloves look like dishwashing ones, really. I can’t believe Vicky would go for such but face the fact, she did. Here is one more inventive ugly golden frog on the red purse.

And the scariest picture of all, earlier this year also for Marc Jacobs. Victoria’s face looks like she put cheap auto-tan on her face and for god’s sake, what is it about this hair do? Even The Most Glamorous Woman of the 2007 Victoria Beckham can fall with her face down in the dirt. The ones that get up dust themselves off and try again win.

I’ve always been interested in what is going on in backstage of fashion industry, what fashion bosses like, dislike, eat, read, etc. And here’s the thing I just loved! According to FemaleFirst, Miuccia Prada likes to keep her staff on a tight lead, at least that’s what a leaked memo containing her office rules suggests.

Just listen to this: “Desk and work surfaces should be clean and uncluttered. Pictures, calendars, etc. should not be taped to cubicle/office walls.”
