Yeah, we all have bad days sometimes. It gets to be even more difficult when you’re a girl, as you can have a bad hair day, a bad style day, or a hairy armpits day. December 1 was Beyoncé Knowles’ day of joining hairy armpits hall of shame.

Megan Fox has one of the prettiest faces in Hollywood. She’s one of the hottest Hollywood starlets of the day, she graces magazines covers and tops sexiest women lists. Megan Fox knows how to attract attention, she knows how to make men want her. She knows women are envious of her beauty, her looks and great body. She doesn’t seem to care but she likes to provoke excitement. Megan Fox loves talking about sex, her personal life and her career. She’s open and honest. She’s a real person, which is refreshing, as her mom once said.
Megan Denise Fox was born May 16, 1986 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee to Darlene Tonachio, former Tourism Director, and Frank Fox. Though born in Oak Ridge, Megan grew up in nearby Rockwood, Tennessee. She’s the second child in the family and has an older sister. Megan Fox has Irish, Italian, French and Cherokee ancestry. When Megan was 10, her family moved to Florida. Her mom still lives there.
When she was a child Megan was grounded almost all the time and didn’t have many opportunities for doing crazy things. “She’d be punished for something silly, and she’d mess up again before her grounding period was over,” her mother recalls. “When I was 14, I thought I was the coolest kid in school because I told everyone the jokes in FHM,” Megan confessed in one of the interviews.
Anyway, when Megan was out of parents’ watchful eye she was open to adventures. In her interview for Blender June 2007 issue, Megan said that once she went to Bible camp. She was 11 that time. One night, she snuck out to meet the first boy she ever had a crush on. “Each cabin had two counselors, so it was really difficult. I had the balls, but he was too chickenshit. After a couple of hours, I snuck back into bed and went back to sleep, very disappointed.”
There’s also a rumor that when Megan Fox was 16 she and some friends went to a strip club in Lake Worth and she gave everyone a show by performing gyrations on the pole, though with her clothes on. When asked about it, her mom, 56, said she doubted Megan could do that while living with her family.
Megan started training in drama and dance when she was 5. She attended a dance class at the community center, and was involved in Kingston Elementary School’s chorus and the Kingston Clippers swim team. She started career as a model when she was 13 winning several awards at the 1999 American Modeling and Talent Convention in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Her first job was for Elite Pictures London where she was given her first opportunity to star in a movie.
Modeling provided Megan with great opportunities. With the awards she received at the 1999 American Modeling and Talent Convention she headed to LA to pursue her dream to become an actor. In 2001, Megan made her feature film debut in the Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen movie, Holiday in the Sun, where she played the spoiled, snobbish antagonist, Brianna Wallace.
For the next three years she didn’t have any more films to make and only starred in TV series, sit-coms and soap operas. In 2002 – 2003 she starred in 122 episodes of the low-key soap opera Ocean Ave as Ione Starr. In 2003 she also appeared in Season 2 episode 5 (Like a virgin) of the Amanda Bynes sitcom What I Like About You starring as Shannon.
From 2003 to 2004 Megan Fox landed roles in Two and a Half Men (Prudence on Season 1, episode 12, Camel Filters and Pheremones), The Help (Cassandra Ridgeway) and the comedy pilot News to Me. Also in 2004 Megan acted as Candace in ABC Family TV movie Crimes of Fashion and secured a spot on the Kelly Ripa-led sitcom Hope & Faith in which she portrayed Sydney Shanowski for the next two years. While shooting Hope & Faith, Fox spent most of her time in New York but often went back to LA, where she studies acting with her coach, Sharon Lane.
Her next big screen role was of Carla Santini in Walt Disney’s Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (2004) alongside then-rising star Lindsay Lohan. Megan portrayed the most popular girl in the high school. Lindsay’s character was competing with Megan Fox’s over getting the leading role in the big school play Pygmalion and attracting attention of the band’s lead singer, both had a crush on. Megan gained mainstream recognition for the role.
As for the filming and her costars, Megan said she didn’t get along with Lindsay Lohan. “We were 16-year-old girls. I haven’t seen Lindsay since then, but I imagine she’s grown and become a different person. From what I’ve experienced, women aren’t good friends to one another,” she said adding that because she looked older than Lindsay, “she’d be nice to my face so I would buy her cigarettes. We got away with it every time.”
Small and supporting roles helped Megan Fox acquire significant media attention. Megan had her first five-page spread in FHM’s November 2005 issue. She was named number 68 in FHM magazine’s “100 Sexiest Women in the World 2006”. And later in 2008 she was voted the Sexiest Woman in the World by FHM beating out Jessica Biel and Jessica Alba.
But it was only in 2007 that she woke up famous overnight. She was cast as Mikaela Banes, the lead female role in Michael Bay’s live-action film Transformers (2007). “Michael Bay’s name, if it’s attached to a script, you know it’s going to be a huge blockbuster released in the summer, with jets flying over at the premiere and all that kind of stuff. So, I knew it was going to be a huge movie,” the actress said on the film and the director. Transformers was based on the toy and cartoon saga of the same name. The film was released July 4th, 2007. The film was nominated for three Oscars in the following categories: Best Achievement in Sound, Best Achievement in Sound Editing and Best Achievement in Visual Effects, as well as for MTV Movie Awards in the category “Best Summer Movie You Haven’t Seen Yet” (2007). In the States the film earned over $70m during its opening weekend making $36.7m on the opening night. Thus, the movie was Best 4th of July opening ever.

In the movie Megan Fox played the love interest of Shia LaBeouf. “There are no big love scenes. At this point Shi and I have been dating for two years so we’re at the bickering stage, like an old married couple,” she said later about him adding that she considers him to be one of her favorite people ever. When asked about her character, Megan said that though in the film, she was an Optimus Prime girl in real life, she would go with Megatron. “I’m always forced to behave and be nice to people, so being bad is very appealing. Everybody longs for the day when they could be a real asshole if they felt like it.”
Soon after the release of the flick it was reported that Megan had signed on for two more Transformer sequels.
In 2007 she graced July 2007 Maxim issue and the September 2007 issue of Arena. Also in June 2007 she was cast for How to Lose Friends & Alienate People, starring alongside Jeff Bridges, Simon Pegg, Kirsten Dunst and Gillian Anderson. The film is based on Toby Young’s memoir of the same name and documents his five years working at Conde Nast Publications’ Vanity Fair as a contributing editor. Fox portrays a young Hollywood starlet getting her first taste of fame.
Simon Pegg says Megan Fox is the “most beautiful geek” he has ever met stating he was surprised to find out she was as much of a nerd as he is. “She’s really sharp and actually a bit of a geek. Queen of the geeks – the most beautiful geek I’ve ever met. Megan is perplexingly beautiful. She walks into a room and your eyes go out of focus,” he confessed.
Among the latest films starring Megan Fox are Whore that opened October 20, 2008 and Jennifer’s Body that’s to be released on September 18, 2009. Whore tells about a group of young Hollywood hopefuls, who find that in order to succeed in the industry, they must give up a lot more than they bargained for. Megan Fox costars alongside Rumer Willis and Ron Jeremy.
Diablo Cody’s Jennifer’s Body features Fox as Jennifer Check, a newly possessed cheerleader who turns into a killer who specializes in offing her male classmates. The film has already caught media attention due to nude and love scenes with Megan Fox. “It’s always awkward and it’s never fun. It was hard not to just laugh hysterically and endlessly,” Megan said of making love scenes for the film.
”In order to live in this new state of undead, she has to feed on human flesh,” Fox told EW about her character Jennifer. ”So she takes revenge on men who she secretly hated her whole life anyway…. I’ve always hated boys, so I identified with that very easily.”
“I think I’m pretty sexy in it,” the actress said at the Comic-Con press conference for the movie in July 2009. “The movie is SO sexy! You better put on your sexy shoes for this movie!”
Megan added: “There’s sort of a hint of, a little bit of a lesbian relationship that happens. There’s a girl-on-girl kiss. And beyond that, before every kill there is a seduction that occurs. The boys have to be seduced to get in close enough to the dead girl in order for her to devour them.”
“I feel much safer with girls, so I felt more comfortable kissing her [Amanda Seyfried] in the movie than kissing any of the other people that I had to kiss,” Megan told Wonderland Magazine. “I think [Amanda] was extremely uncomfortable. I don’t think that, I know that. She was not comfortable and there was a lot of laughing, like, giggling fits that happened in between takes.”
Fox says she loved the movie cause “it’s so unapologetic and completely inappropriate at all times.” “The character was so much fun for me. I was just trying to have fun with it. I sort of felt like I was being able to make fun of my own image, sort of, as to how some people might perceive Megan Fox to be.” “It’s cool to see myself being able to scare people, because I’m just a little girl,” she says. “Look at me: I’m so sweet!”
One of Megan’s latest film is the second part of the Transformers sequel, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The filming began June 2, 2008 and the film hit theatres on June 24, 2009. For her role in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, the movie’s director Michael Bay has reportedly ordered the actress to gain 10 lbs stating that he “does not like skinny girls.”
“It’s mind-blowing,” she said of the experience and opportunity Bay gave her. “I think it [Transformers sequels] has opened a lot of doors for me career-wise, but there is a certain loss of anonymity, like leaving your house and having people take your picture all the time. That is a different kind of life.”
“I definitely feel ill-prepared,” she told Entertainmnet Tonight about getting famous overnight. “I mean, I don’t know if anyone ever sits back and goes, ‘Now is the moment that I think I should be a famous celebrity.’ I know I’m struggling with trying to figure out how to how to live in it — but I definitely feel it’s premature. I mean, I was in one movie that people have seen.”
Megan Fox said she was “genuinely terrified” by the experience she had while filming. “It makes you run fast because you are genuinely terrified. And you still feel blanks – with that many guns going off, you never really know,” she said in one of the interviews in January 2009.
In early March 2009 it was reported that the 22-year-old actress was set to star in the Western-based action flick Jonah Hex opposite Josh Brolin and John Malkovich. The film is set for release on August 6, 2010.
Fox will play Leila, a gun-wielding beauty and love interest of Hex (Brolin). Fox said that the character “wasn’t really featured in the comics” and has undergone several name changes, recalling “Her name was initially Liala, and now they changed it – or it was Layla, and now they changed it to Leila.” “She is a prostitute. She’s a good ol’ working girl, and she’s a love-interest to Jonah … of sorts. I mean, it’s by no means a classic type of relationship,” Megan described her character, adding taht she’s a “sort of a tough, no-nonsense prostitute. Like, she’ll shoot you in the head if she has to. And she does!”
Megan said about the movie: “I think it’s a really good interpretation of the comic. It somehow manages to be super-violent while still having a PG-13 rating. I don’t know how they did that.” She also added the filming process was something she relaly enjoyed: “It looks incredible and I’ve never been so blown away with the performances in an action film aside from my own as I am in this one,” she revealed. “Because it’s [Josh] Brolin and [John] Malkovich and Michael Fassbender, and these theater actors who are just phenomenons and brilliantly talented.”
She’s also attached to star in the comic book-based underwater adventure Fathom, the story that follows a young woman named Aspen who learns she is a member of a race of aquatic humanoids who possess the ability to control water.
In April 2009 it was reported Megan Fox had been tapped to play one half of a married couple that is forced to smuggle drugs in the upcoming thriller The Crossing. Megan’s character and her husband are carjacked while on vacation in Mexico and with her husband kidnapped her only way to free him is to agree to smuggle drugs across the border. The thriller is set to start filming in July 2009.
Besides doing and promoting movies Megan Fox often graces sexiest magazine covers and presents readers with sultry spreads. Among the latest are her sizzling covers for Maxim and GQ October 2008 issues. In June 2009 she covered Esquire and Elle. For the first time in the Esquire’s history, the cover shoot was captured using a video camera. A RedONE video cam captured Megan at four times the resolution of hi-def images, as shot by photographer-director Greg Williams.
At the GQ Men of the Year party on November 18, 2008 Megan was given the title “Obsession by GQ,” and was the only female to make the magazine’s annual list of winners.
In February 2009 MSN Movie fans named Megan the sexiest sci-fi babe.
“When you think about it, we actors are kind of prostitutes,” Megan told National Enquirer in 2009. “We get paid to feign attraction and love. Other people are paying to watch us kissing someone, touching someone, doing things people in a normal monogamous relationship would never do with anyone who’s not their partner. It’s really kind of gross.”
“I need to behave in a way and handle myself in a way that will cause people to take me seriously,” Megan said about establishing herslef on Hollywood. “You can be sexy and be intelligent and be taken seriously, or you can be sexy and you can be out at clubs every night and not be [taken seriously]. I haven’t gone completely insane — but it might happen soon.”
In June 2009 it was revealed that Megan was voted the sexiest woman in the world by FHMonline’s annual poll. She became the second celebrity to top the list in two consecutive years.
In September 2009 Megan had a chance to promote her film Jennifer’s Body and show off her comedic skills as she hosted the premiere episode of Saturday Night Live on September 26th. Before the show the insider told Life & Style: “She has a lot of surprises in store for the audience. This is the perfect opportunity for her to show off her comedic skills.”
In her interview for Cosmopolitan October 2009 issue Megan confessed she wished she could star in Hannah Montana Movie.
In early October 2009 Transformers director Michael Bay set the release date for Transformers 3 – July 1, 2011. “Megan Fox, welcome back. I promise no alien robots will harm you in any way during the production of this motion picture. Please consult your Physician when working under my direction because some side effects can occur, such as mild dizziness, intense nausea, suicidal tendencies, depression, minor chest hair growth, random internal hemorrhaging and inability to sleep. As some directors may be hazardous to your health, please consult your Doctor to determine if this is right for you,” Bay joked in his statement.
As a sign of global recognition, in mid October 2009 it was revealed that Megan had been signed on as a new Emporio Armani model for Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans. The new ads for Spring/Summer 2010 season will start running worldwide in January 2010. Megan’s publicity team, managers and agents approached Armani several times over the years to build the relationship. The seven-figure deal was signed on October 14, 2009.
Also, in October Megan was voted the Sexiest Movie Star 2009 by Empire Magaizine.
In late 2009 Megan started shooting Passion Play with Mickey Rourke. In the flick, Megan plays an angel who tries to redeem Mickey’s character, a down on his luck trumpet player, after he saves her from a gangster.
In 2003 Megan was nominated for Young Artist Award as a Supporting Young Actress in the category Best Performance in a TV Series (Comedy or Drama) for her role in Hope & Faith.
She was also nominated for a Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Actress: Action Adventure for Transformers (2007), Choice Movie: Liplock for Transformers (2007), the nomination she shared with Shia LaBeouf, and Choice Movie: Breakout Female.
The same year 2007 she was nominated for National Movie Award in the Best Performance by a Female category. She also won the Sci-Fi Siren Spike TV Scream Award.
In 2009 Megan was named Choice Female Hottie and Choice Summer Movie Star for Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen at 2009 Teen Choice Awards.
On October 17, 2009 Fox was honored with Best Sci-Fi Actress kudo at Spike TV’s 2009 Scream Awards.
While some other celebs try to keep their private life away from cameras and paparazzi Megan Fox doesn’t seem to care somebody’s watching her. She’s open enough to speak up about her sex and love life. She makes no secret of her desires and of her love experiments. However, while living with her parents, Megan was not allowed to date anyone. She only did it after she moved out. “I have the libido of a 15-year-old boy. My sex drive is so high. I’d rather have sex with Brian all the time than leave the house. He doesn’t mind,” Megan revealed in her interview for Maxim.
“I’ve lived the life of a 35-year-old since I was 18. I’m so suspicious of boys-slash-men. I just don’t like them or trust them,” she noted in her interview for Elle June 2009 issue.
In November 2006 Megan announced her engagement to Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles actor Brian Austin Green. They’ve been an item since 2004. Presently they reside in LA together. “I like him. He’s a little bit older, but that brings Megan some stability,” Megan’s mom said about her daughter’s fiancé.
“He’s the one person,” Megan told Elle in June 2009. “He’s a man. He has an ego. He went through this already, and he doesn’t want it back – it was horrible. So he has sympathy. He’s the one person that I know that if I’m struggling and everything’s getting crazy, I can call.”
“It’s so odd. I like the bad-boy types. Generally the guy I’m attracted to is the guy in the club with all the tattoos and nail polish. He’s usually the lead singer in a punk band and plays guitar. But my serious boyfriends are relatively clean-cut, nice guys,” Megan Fox said once. She also confesses she’s not the one to be easy to deal with. “I’m horrible to live with. I don’t clean. My clothes end up wherever I take them off. I forget to flush the toilet. Friends will tell me, “Megan, you totally pinched a loaf in my toilet and didn’t flush.”
The 22-year-old actress doesn’t hide her zest for sex with her boyfriend. “I really enjoy having sex, and that’s offensive to some people. Women are the quickest to call other women sluts, which I think is sad. I haven’t met a lot of men who have said, ‘You like having sex? What a dirty whore you are.’ That’s because they wish their wives or girlfriends would have more sex with them.” Ms. Fox stated. “I’m young and have a lot of hormones – I’m always in the mood [for sex]! But I like sex with one person when I’m in a relationship. Sex with random people who I’ve met at clubs is not really my thing.”

At GQ Men of the Year party on November 18, 2008 the couple reveled their nuptial plans, saying they only wanted to invite a few people to teh ceremony and make it a very hush hush affair that the media would only learn about it “the week after.”
“She always looks hot. I stand next to her and it’s like beauty and the beast,” Brian confessed. “I like to see her in the morning. I like to see her at home. It doesn’t matter whether you put a bunch of makeup on her or not.”
“I’m not a ’sexy’ ‘beautiful’ woman. It takes a lot of work to make me look like a girl,” Megan responds.
“If you know how to take control of [being a sex symbol], then it can be powerful. But I have no idea how to handle it yet, how to deal with it.” Megan told Esquire’s June 2009 issue. “I’m just really confident sexually, and I think that sort of oozes out of my pores. It’s just there. It’s something I don’t have to turn on.”
In February 2009 it was reported that after five years together the couple called off their engagement deciding to focus on their careers. “The relationship had run its course,” an insider told UsWeekly. “It’s completely amicable, and they are remaining friends.”
“I feel like I need to set my career and do a movie other than Transformers,” Megan Fox said. “Then I’ll explore family.” “I’m not going to be married — I’m not the marrying type. And I know your next question is going to be — ‘Why are you engaged if you’re not the marrying type?’ I am impulsive and I love my boyfriend, but I have no plans of getting married any time soon,” She told Extra.
However, since their split the couple have often been seen together, and in late March 2009 they were spotted what it seemd to be househunting in LA. “Megan wanted great ocean views because she loves the beach and spotting dolphins. And they said they need several bedrooms and lots of privacy,” a source reported. “She wasn’t wearing her engagement ring, but they were quite affectionate. They seemed totally in sync!” However, while promoting Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen in London on June 15, Megan told The Sun: “I’m currently what you would call single I guess. I know I’m not capable at this point in my life of being a good partner or a good wife. That’s like a joke. We’re sort of trying to figure out what our relationship is.”
Megan is also good friends with her Transformers co-star, Shia Labeouf. “He probably is my favourite person in the entire world. Shia makes me laugh harder than anybody I’ve ever known in my life. I end up crying or almost peeing myself every time I’m with him,” she said at a press conference in May 2009. “So he’s just my favourite – I love you Shia! And he’s really super-handsome.”
Shia, in his turn, claims there’s certain chemistry between the two of them. “We’re attracted to each other, and I think you can see that in our scenes together. It’s very real and tangible, and you can tell something exists,” he told Playboy. “We could be shooting, and the relationship is suddenly on the rocks and then what? So we just never did anything about it.”
Being really hot and apparently insatiable, Megan just has to have some secret passions. One of them, as it has been recently reported, is girls. In her revealing interview for GQ October issue Megan confessed she had a fling with a female stripper at the age of 18. “Well, that year my boyfriend broke up with me, and I decided — oh man, sorry, mommy! — that I was in love with this girl that worked at the (L.A. mammary Mecca) Body Shop. I decided that I was going to get her to love me back, and I went out of my way to create a relationship with this girl, a stripper named Nikita.”
The star also said she wishes to have a steamy girlie session with Angelina Jolie calling her “a superhuman goddess”, adding she also lusts after former porn queen Jenna Jameson.
“I love Angelina Jolie. She’s someone I admire and look up to. She’s my favourite actress in Hollywood. I just love that she’s incredibly honest, and I feel that she’s not afraid to be herself. She’s not afraid of being offensive,” Megan told The Insider in June 2009 admitting she fancies Jolie every now and then. “Every time a relationship ends, I say, “If I could just be Angelina’s girlfriend, I would be so happy.”‘
“I just think that all humans are born with the ability to be attracted to both sexes. I mean, I could see myself in a relationship with a girl – (OC star) Olivia Wilde is so sexy she makes me want to strangle a mountain ox with my bare hands. She’s mesmerizing. And lately I’ve been obsessed with Jenna Jameson. Oh boy,” Megan said.
“I have no problem with commitment–you can’t have a real relationship without it,” the actress added later during her interview for Cosmopolitan’s October 2009 issue. “I can flip on a switch in my brain, and even if the next Brad Pitt is standing next to me, I won’t look at him. but I can also turn that switch of, and then I collect attractive boys.”
As to famous resemblance to Angelina Jolie, Fox said: “I guess I see a resemblance between us two, but I want to become my own person.” The two actresses do have a lot in common, pretty faces, beautiful eyes and sexy and sweet lips men dream to kiss, they both have it all.
“Because I have tattoos and dark hair and I was in an action movie? That’s as far as the similarities [between me and Jolie] extend. I’m not the next anyone,” Fox told Entertainment Weekly in JUne 2009. “She always seems otherworldly in her power and her confidence. I’m sure she has no idea who I am. But if I were her, I’d be like, ”Who the f— is this little bulls— brat who was in Transformers that’s going to be the next me?” I don’t want to meet her; I’d be embarrassed.”
Love of tattoos does bring the two actresses together. Megan calls her love of tattoos an obsession, she says once you start doing them you can’t stop it. So we never know when Fox gets a new picture on her body. Megan Fox has nine tattoos, including a poem on her ribcage reading “there once was a little girl who never knew love until a boy broke her HEART”, a symbol for strength on her neck, Brian Green’s name on her hip, a bull’s eye on her lower back and a line from Shakespeare’s play King Lear: “We will all laugh at gilded butterflies” on her right shoulder. There’s also a picture of Marilyn Monroe’s face on her right arm. “I just had an incredible amount of empathy for her my whole life. I cry when I see her on camera,” she said about this tattoo. “People who don’t like me talk about it as though I’m trash because I have tattoos. I find that insane because it’s 2008, not the 1950s. Tattoos aren’t limited to sailors. It’s a form of art I find beautiful. I love it.”
Megan Fox is young but she’s already earned the following honors: she was number 16 in Maxim’s “Hot 100 2008” and No. 2 in “Hot 100 2009″; number 12 ranking on AskMen.com’s Top 99 in 2008 and number 2 in 2009. In 2007 she was ranked number 73 AskMen.com’s Most Desirable Women, and also ranked number 17 on “Future Stars of Tomorrow” list. Megan Fox also tops AOL’s 25 hottest Hollywood stars aged till 25 years beating out Emma Watson (# 3), Keira Knightley (# 7) and Scarlett Johansson (# 25).
“You can’t be [a sex symbol] 24 hours a day. I can’t be a professional celebrity or a professional sexpot. I can’t do that to myself,” Megan confessed to Empire Magazine. “I just want to work and make the right choices, and study and develop as an actress. I don’t want to be on the cover of every magazine that exists. I want to try not to do that. It’s my job to show people something different.”
”I think all women in Hollywood are known as sex symbols. That’s what our purpose is in this business. You’re merchandised, you’re a product. You’re sold and it’s based on sex. But that’s okay. I think women should be empowered by that, not degraded.”
Sex symbol status does nothing to boost her confidence. “I’m very confident in how I project my personality. But in terms of how I look, I’m completely, hysterically insecure. I’m self-loathing, introverted and neurotic. I don’t like being seen. I want to be invisible,” She told Wonderland Magazine.
However, Megan says she’d love to be a kind of a role model for girls out there. “If your idea of a role model is somebody who’s gonna preach to your kids that sex before marriage is wrong and cursing is wrong and women should be this and be that, then I’m not a role model,” Fox said in her recent interview for The Times of London. “But if you want your girls to feel strong and intelligent and be outspoken and fight for what they think is right, then I want to be that type of role model, yeah.”
”I have a really badass personality,” Megan Fox Entertainment Weekly’s June 2009 issue. “I’m smart and I can be really funny and interesting and I can go toe-to-toe with anybody in a conversation. So I’m not afraid to speak, and I think that’s what people read as this überconfidence. I have a mouth and I’m not afraid to use it.”
“It’s fun when someone intends to put you in his back pocket, but instead, he walks away wounded,” Fox told Cosmopolitan October 2009 issue. “I make it a mind game so they don’t know if I’m hitting on them or mocking them. Male actors drop lines about their private jets, trying to seem powerful, but I don’t give a s—. I don’t need someone else’s power. I’m obtaining my own.”
So what’s her secret of beauty and sex appeal? “The sun and the sea – things that suit me. I consider staying under the sun is much more useful, than most people think. For example, when I start going on a beach and bathing in salty sea water, my skin condition improves considerably,” She said. As to her figure, the secret is simply apple vinegar. “Only water and apple vinegar. It allows cleaning organism completely. I do not love diets and exercises – I am too lazy,” Fox added.
It might seem surprising but Megan Fox hates attending celebrity parties. She says she would much rather stay at home and relax than go to clubs and get drunk like some of her party girl peers. “I avoid that scene completely. I don’t do a lot of big parties – it just doesn’t appeal to me at all. I see what it does to people. I don’t like going to clubs because I’m not looking to hook up with somebody, so why am I going to go and dance around tables if that’s not what I’m looking for? I guess I’m boring. There’s nothing else to write about me because I don’t go to clubs or do drugs or fall out of cars drunk.”
“I don’t have a lot of fun,” she said at The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien on September 17. “The places that I like to hang out — there’s this particular area in Burbank where I can act out my entire fantasy life. There’s an Olive Garden, an Outback Steakhouse and Krispy Kreme donuts all within a one block radius. And one shopping center. Oh, and I love Red Lobster. I love the cheese biscuits.”
In November 2009 it was reported Megan had expressed her interest in raising awareness of neglected children and getting involved in charity work. “Overall, in terms of this business, I hope to gain the status that will enable me to be truly and legitimately helpful to people,” she said. “I feel like that’s my purpose in life, to do charity work and help people around the world on a global level. Being part of this business, you have so much influence and you can really make a difference. I’m drawn towards the idea of somehow helping children.”

A great recipe for a good Friday night is simply this one. Take someone dear to you, add some pop corn and coke, buy two tickets to the movies, and, which is really important, find the flick you like the most . Here’s our movie menu for today.

Go with something light and hilarious to start with. Beverly Hills Chihuahua featuring voices of Drew Barrymore, Andy Garcia, George Lopez and Paul Rodriguez, is a story about diamond-clad Chihuahua Chloe that gets lost in Mexico, while the other Chihuahua that’s got a crush on this lovely Beverly Hills pooch teams up with two humans, a rat and an iguana to rescue his true love.

Here’s something more serious for the main course. Blindness that was first presented during this year’s International Cannes Festival also opens today, starring Jullianne Moore, Mark Ruffalo, Gael Garcia Bernal, Sandra Oh, Danny Glover. Blindness is psychological thriller about a sudden plague of blindness devastating a city, and a woman whose sight is unaffected by the disease. She follows her afflicted husband to quarantine in an abandoned mental hospital to witness how the newly created society of the blind breaks down. The film is based on a novel by Nobel Prize winner Jose Saramago.
And finally here’s something for dessert to choose from. I’m thinking delicious comedy. How to Lose Friends & Alienate People based on Toby Young’s memoir of the same name and starring Simon Pegg, Kirsten Dunst, Gillian Anderson, Megan Fox, Max Minghella, and Jeff Bridges, portrays thorny showbiz paths a bumbling, British celebrity journalist (Pegg) has to go through in upscale Sharp magazine he’s now working for.

He’s too clumsy and awkward for the society he has to mix with. He annoys his fellow writer (Dunst), a power publicist (Anderson), his boss (Bridges), and he makes a sexy rising Hollywood starlet (Fox) fall in love with him.
So the question is who will save this poor guy and his career?
Rachel Getting Married is described as a contemporary drama with an aggressive sense of humor. Anne Hathaway plays an estranged daughter who gets back home for her sister’s wedding. Her comeback brings along the long history of personal crisis and family conflicts. She is the one to turn the perfectly planned weekend of feasting and partying into something full of tense and drama.
Anne Hathaway looks good with hair cut short, don’t you think?

The X-Files: I want to believe premiered in LA yesterday. Movie stars, Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny joined director Chris Carter and producer Frank Spotnitz on the red carpet. Gillian Anderson, 39, who reprised her role as FBI agent Dana Scully in the series’ second full-length feature film, was looking glowing and blooming in a floor-length silk blue dress, showing off her growing baby bump.

As we’ve already reported, Anderson is expecting her third child with beau Mark Griffiths. The baby is due in October. This will be the second child for the couple who already have a 20-month-old son Oscar. Gillian also has a daughter Piper, 13, from the previous marriage.

During the premiere Ms. Anderson told reporters about her pregnancy cravings and her plans for this year. According to the star she doesn’t actually crave anything and, while pregnant, prefers to “eat and sit on my butt.”

Anderson told US Magazine she’s focusing her life on mommyhood, though she’s having “a couple of films coming out later in the year” that she’ll do some promotion for. So far, she’s promoting The X-Files.

According to FOXNews.com, Gillian is also involved into charitable thing these days. She is currently auctioning off some very special personal items from her days on the X-Files on e-Bay to raise money for three chosen charities. Anderson said one of the items could make someone a lot of money someday. “There’s an FBI file that I’m a bit hesitant to auction because it may be one of only two in existence — but I’m doing it anyway,” she said.

It’s not the only charitable thing Anderson has ever done. Last year she appeared on Idol Gives Back. Gillian even recorded a song for the show but it was so bad it wasn’t included in the final version.
“I recorded in London. But I also did a version where I pretended to audition for American Idol a cappella, but did a really bad job,” she told the source. “Of course, they never used it, but I’m sure it will pop up at some point to embarrass me.”

A recluse, two lazy middle-aged step-brothers, and a couple of special agents will be a great company for the July 25 Friday night. These are main heroes of Friday big movie premieres. Pick the one you like most and get ready for the show time!

The truth is still out there though it’s been 6 years since we saw Mulder and Scully last. The X-Files: I Want to Believe is the second full-length movie about FBI special agents fighting against the governmental conspiracy and the world of paranormal activity around.

Besides Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny, the sequel includes Amanda Peet, Billy Connolly, and rapper Xzibit as an FBI agent. The main plot secret is whether Mulder and Scully are finally together. There are mysteries that cannot be solved…
The rest of the flicks are not that spooky.

Henry Poole is Here is a comedic drama about a disillusioned man who goes hiding in placid suburbia only to discover he cannot escape the forces of hope.

Henry Poole (Luke Wilson) returns to the middleclass neighborhood where he grew up to live in indulgent isolation. But his neighbors don’t leave him along, and the whole thing gets even worse when his stucco wall is seen to have miraculous powers.
The flick looks into the unexpected wonders of the everyday: faithless man finds hope, a hopeless man finds love.

Step Brothers shows us equally lazy and spoiled, rich feuding middle-aged step-siblings (Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly) in this summer comedy about how these guys don’t get along after their parents tie the knot.

They’re forced to live under the same roof and share each other’s lives, and eventually they tear the family apart. Now it’s up to these immature, overgrown boys to bring their parents back together again.
Angelina Jolie is an American film actress and a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN Refugee Agency. She is often named as one of the world’s most beautiful and sexiest women. Though being young, Jolie has already received three Golden Globe Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and an Academy Award. Jolie’s personal life is always in the spotlight.
Angelina Jolie Voight was born in Los Angeles, California, on June 4, 1975 to Oscar-winning actors Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand. Jolie has a brother James Haven. She’s the god-daughter of Jacqueline Bisset and Maximilian Schell. She’s of Slovak and German origin on her father’s side and of French Canadian on her mother’s side. She is said to be part Iroquois, though her farther once claimed Bertrand is “not seriously Iroquois,” and that they merely said it to enhance his ex-wife’s exotic background.
Angelina JolieHer parents separated in 1976, and Jolie and her brother were raised by their mother in Palisades, New York. As a child Jolie regularly saw movies with her mother and later explained that this had inspired her interest in acting. When she was 11, the family moved back to Los Angeles and Jolie decided she wanted to act and enrolled at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute, where she trained for two years and appeared in several stage productions. Other alumni of the Lee Strasberg Institute are Frank Miranda, Harvey Keitel, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Sally Field.
Jolie went to Beverly Hills High School (later Moreno High School), and later she recalled her feeling of isolation among the children of some of the area’s more affluent families. Jolie’s mother survived on a more modest income, and Jolie often wore second-hand clothes.
At school Angelina Jolie was teased by other students for her distinctive features, for being extremely thin, and for wearing glasses and braces. As a teen Jolie was experimenting and trying to find herself. She tried herself at modeling. Her first attempts proved unsuccessful. She started to cut herself; later commenting, “I collected knives and always had certain things around. For some reason, the ritual of having cut myself and feeling the pain, maybe feeling alive, feeling some kind of release, it was somehow therapeutic to me.”
At 14, she dropped out of her acting classes and dreamed of becoming a funeral director. During this period, she wore black, dyed her hair purple and went out moshing with her live-in boyfriend. Two years later, after the relationship had ended, she rented an apartment above a garage a few blocks from her mother’s home, she returned to theatre studies and graduated from high school.
At the age of 16 Jolie gave her modeling career another try. She worked as a professional model in London, New York and Los Angeles, and has also appeared in numerous music videos for such artists as Meat Loaf (’Rock & Roll Dreams Come Through’), Lenny Kravitz (’Stand by My Woman’), Antonello Venditti (’Alta Marea’) and The Lemonheads (’It’s About Time’). In 1997 Jolie also played a stripper in the Rolling Stones music video for the song ‘Anybody Seen My Baby?’
Though Angelina Jolie made her screen debut as a child alongside her father Jon Voight in the 1982 film Lookin’ to Get Out, Jolie’s acting career began in early 1990s with the low budget production of Cyborg 2 (1993). Angelina played Casella “Cash” Reese, a near-human robot, designed to seduce her way into a rival manufacturer’s headquarters and then self-detonate. Before doing Cyborg, Jolie had also acted in five student films for the USC School of Cinema, all directed by her brother, James Haven. Though being estranged from her father Jon Voight Angelina began to learn from him, as she noticed, his method of observing people to become like them. Their relationship during this time was less strained, with Jolie realizing that they were both “drama queens”.
Jolie’s most prominent role during early years of her career was as Kate “Acid Burn” Libby in her first Hollywood picture, Hackers (1995), where she met her first husband Jonny Lee Miller. The New York Times wrote, “Kate (Angelina Jolie) stands out. That’s because she scowls even more sourly than [her co-stars] and is that rare female hacker who sits intently at her keyboard in a see-through top. Despite her sullen posturing, which is all this role requires, Ms. Jolie has the sweetly cherubic looks of her father, Jon Voight.” The movie failed to make a profit at the box-office, but developed a cult after the release.
Her next film was 1996 comedy Love Is All There Is, a modern-day loose adaptation of Romeo and Juliet set among two rival Italian family restaurant owners in the Bronx, New York.
In the road movie Mojave Moon she was a youngster, named Eleanor Rigby, who falls for Danny Aiello (The Shoemaker), while he takes a shine to her mother, Anne Archer.
Another small movie that got her good notices was Foxfire (1996), Jolie played Margret “Legs” Sadovsky, one of five teenage girls who form an unlikely bond in the film after they beat up a teacher who has sexually harassed them. The Los Angeles Times wrote about Jolie’s performance, “It took a lot of hogwash to develop this character, but Jolie has the presence to overcome the stereotype. Though the story is narrated by Maddy, Legs is the subject and the catalyst.”
In 1997, Jolie starred with David Duchovny (The X-Files) in the thriller Playing God, a film about a surgeon who lost his medical license and is hired by guys from criminal world to do operations on wounded Mafiosi. Jolie’s character, Claire, is girlfriend of one of the criminals. The movie was not received, and the reviews noted that “Angelina Jolie seems too nice to be [a criminal's] girlfriend”.
The same year she appeared in the TV movie True Women, a historical romantic drama set in the West, and based on the book by Janice Woods Windle.
George Wallace (1997) won Jolie a Golden Globe award and an Emmy nomination. George Wallace is a biopic highly praised by critics. Angelina Jolie played the second wife of the segregationist Governor of Alabama who was shot and paralyzed while running for President.
In 1998, Jolie starred in HBO’s Gia as supermodel Gia Carangi. This was the true life story of supermodel Gia Carangi, depicting a world of sex, drugs and emotional drama. Carangi became involved with drugs and because of her needle-using habits she became one of the first celebrities to die of AIDS at the age of 26. Vanessa Vance from Reel.com noted, “Angelina Jolie is fierce in her portrayal — filling the part with nerve, charm, and desperate.”
In accordance with Lee Strasberg’s method of acting Jolie reportedly preferred to stay in character in between scenes during many of her early films, and as a result had gained a reputation for being difficult to deal with. So while shooting Gia, she told her then-husband Jonny Lee Miller that she wouldn’t be able to phone him. “I’d tell him: ‘I’m alone; I’m dying; I’m gay; I’m not going to see you for weeks.”
Jolie stopped acting for a while after shooting Gia, because she felt that she had “nothing else to give.” During this time she enrolled at New York University to study filmmaking and attended writing classes.
Jolie returned as Gloria McNeary in the 1998 gangster movie Hell’s Kitchen, and later that year appeared in Playing by Heart, as part of an ensemble all-star cast that included Sean Connery, Gillian Anderson, Ryan Phillippe and Jon Stewart. The film received predominantly positive reviews and Jolie was praised in particular.
In 1998, she starred in the comedy-drama Pushing Tin, co-starring John Cusack, Billy Bob Thornton, and Cate Blanchett. Jolie played Thornton’s seductive wife. The film received a lukewarm reception from critics, and Jolie’s character was particularly criticized. While shooting Pushing Tin, Jolie started dating her co-star Billy Bob Thornton and then married him on May 5, 2000.
Next year Jolie joined Denzel Washington (Training Day) in The Bone Collector, an adapted crime novel written by Jeffery Deaver. Jolie played Amelia Donaghy, a police officer haunted by her cop father’s suicide, who reluctantly helps Washington track down a serial killer. The movie grossed $151 million worldwide, but was a critical failure: “Jolie, while always delicious to look at, is simply and woefully miscast.” (Detroit Free Press)
Jolie starred in Girl, Interrupted (1999), a film that tells the story of mental patient Susanna Kaysen, and which was adapted from Kaysen’s original memoir Girl, Interrupted. Jolie played the sociopathic Lisa Rowe while Winona Ryder (Autumn in New York) played the main character. This film was a real triumph for Angelina and brought her an Oscar.
In 2000, Jolie appeared in her first summer blockbuster, Gone in 60 Seconds, in which she played Sarah “Sway” Wayland, ex-girlfriend of car-thief Randall “Memphis” Raines (Nicolas Cage). The role was small, and Angelina later explained that the film was a welcome relief after the heavy role of Lisa Rowe. And Gone in 60 Seconds became her highest grossing movie up until then, earning $237 million internationally.
In 2001 Jolie starred alongside Antonio Banderas as the mail-order bride Julia Russell in the thriller Original Sin. The story was a major critical failure. “The story plunges more precipitously than Ms. Jolie’s neckline,” The New York Times noted about the film.
Angelina as Lara Croft in Lara Croft: Tomb RaiderIn 2000, Jolie was asked to star in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001). At first, she expressed disinterest, but then decided that the required training for the athletic role was intriguing. The movie was an adaptation of the popular Tomb Raider videogame. Lara Croft was a female cross between Indiana Jones and James Bond. Jolie was required to master a British accent and undergo extensive martial arts training to play the title role of Lara Croft. Jolie performed all her own stunts in the film and even received cuts from the chandelier scene as a result. She also set fire to her silk pajamas on the chandelier while she was doing her “bungee jumps” in the house. She was taken to a hospital with minor burns but continued filming the next day.
Thanks to the flick, Jolie achieved international fame and since then has established herself as one of the best-known and highest-paid actresses in Hollywood. Angelina was praised for her physical performance, but the movie received mostly negative reviews. Nonetheless, the movie was a huge international success, earning $275 million worldwide. Jolie reprised her role as Lara Croft in Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life in 2003.
It wasn’t an easy period in Jolie’s life. The thing is that she’d been long estranged from her farther Oscar winning actor Jon Voight, though reconciliation was attempted, and he appeared with her in Lara Croft. In July 2002, Jolie filed a request to legally change her name to “Angelina Jolie”, dropping Voight as her surname; the name change was made official on September 12, 2002. Jolie later indicated that she no longer wished to pursue a relationship with her father, and said, “My father and I don’t speak. I don’t hold any anger toward him. I don’t believe that somebody’s family becomes their blood. Because my son’s adopted, and families are earned.”
However, the two reconciled almost completely in 2009. “We’re in touch, but not regularly,” Jon Voight told US Weekly. “We love each other and that’s the most important thing. Brad has been supportive – a key factor in her reaching out.”
The only movie Jolie did in 2002 was Life or Something Like It. She played Lanie Kerrigan, an ambitious TV reporter who is told that she will die in a week. Jolie’s performance received positive reviews. “Jolie is excellent in her role. This Academy Award-winning actress is exceedingly believable in her journey towards self-discovery and the true meaning of fulfilling life,” CNN’s Paul Clinton wrote in his review.
In 2003 Jolie starred in Beyond Borders, a film about aid workers in Africa. The dramatic film parallels some of her real life humanitarian experiences although, despite the inclusion of a romance between two westerners, many of the movie’s images were too depressingly realistic making the film unpopular with critics and viewers.
In 2004, Jolie starred alongside Ethan Hawke in the thriller Taking Lives, as an FBI profiler summoned to help Montreal law enforcement hunt down a serial killer. The movie received mixed reviews and The Hollywood Reporter concluded, “Angelina Jolie plays a role that definitely feels like something she has already done, but she does add an unmistakable dash of excitement and glamour.”
Jolie also had a brief appearance in Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, a science fiction adventure film, and then played Olympias in Alexander (2004), Oliver Stone’s biopic about the life of Alexander the Great (Colin Farrell). The film was a failure domestically but a success internationally.
This same year Jolie also provided the voice of Lola, an angelfish in the animated DreamWorks movie Shark Tale. The star-studded cast included Will Smith, Martin Scorsese, Renée Zellweger, Jack Black and Robert De Niro.
Angelina at the 2007 Cannes Film FestivalJolie’s only movie of 2005, the action-comedy Mr. & Mrs. Smith, is also her biggest commercial success to date that also made her the third actress to join the $20 Million Club (after Julia Roberts and Cameron Diaz), as that’s the amount of money she got for the flick.
The film tells the story of a bored married couple who find out that they are both secret assassins. Jolie starred as Jane Smith, while Brad Pitt starred as John Smith. “While the story feels haphazard, the movie gets by on gregarious charm, galloping energy and the stars’ thermonuclear screen chemistry,” The Star Tribune wrote. The movie earned over $478 million worldwide, and became one of the biggest hits of 2005.
Jolie’s only film in 2006 was Robert De Niro’s The Good Shepherd, telling the early history of the CIA, as seen through the eyes of Edward Wilson (Matt Damon, The Bourne Ultimatum). Jolie played Wilson’s neglected wife.
In 2007, Jolie made her directorial debut with the documentary A Place in Time, which captures the life in 27 locations around the globe during a single week and features fellow actors such as Jude Law, Hilary Swank, Colin Farrell and Jonny Lee Miller. The film was intended to be distributed through the National Education Association, mainly in high schools.
Jolie also starred as Mariane Pearl in Michael Winterbottom’s documentary-style drama A Mighty Heart (2007), about the kidnap and murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl in Pakistan. The movie is based on Mariane Pearl’s memoirs A Mighty Heart and had its premiere at the 2007 Cannes International Film Festival. Jolie’s performance was described as “well-measured and moving”.
Jolie also played in Robert Zemeckis’ animated epic Beowulf (2007), which was created through the motion capture technique. The film featured her as Grendel’s mother.
Year 2007 was a difficult one in Jolie’s life. There were good and bad things happening to her. The year started with a major family tragedy. Jolie’s mother Marcheline Bertrand died from ovarian cancer on January, 27, 2007 after more than 7 years of battle with the disease. Though having difficult times, Jolie didn’t give up her humanitarian missions and filming career.
Three Jolie’s movies premiered in 2008: the DreamWorks animated movie Kung Fu Panda, Clint Eastwood’s drama Changeling and action flick Wanted, in which Jolie stars as a sexy and wild assassin.
Angelina says she’s really proud of Kung Fu Panda. It is basically the only one of her movies that her children have seen so far, and she says: “It’s a big hit in the house. Jack Black is like De Niro to the kids.”
When asked about her work in The Changeling Angelina said it was Clint Eastwood to help her get through the toughest scenes. “There have been so many times I’ve worked on films that required a lot of emotion, and the director didn’t understand. They’d do 10 takes in a wide shot and you’re crying and crying. And then they’d do close-ups and you’re still trying to emote with the same honesty. Clint doesn’t exhaust you like that. He knows when to move on. And so you feel safe enough to just lay yourself bare and expose everything.”
“Working with someone like Angelina Jolie is a great privilege, because you get to look on that gorgeous beauty every day, And she’s a great talent,” Eastwood said, adding that Jolie “is an actress hampered by her gorgeous face, I think the most beautiful face on the planet. People sometimes can’t see past that, to her talent.” Clint Eastwood compared Angie’s work ethic to that of Meryl Streep: “Actors know with me they aren’t going to be allowed to rehearse a scene for a couple of hours and then get away with doing 25 takes before we get it right, so they come with their full bag of tricks. Angelina is a lot like Meryl Streep in that respect.”
Angelina compares her role as a devastated mother to her role as Mariane Pearl in A Mighty Heart saying The Changeling as a film was “really really painful.” “Certainly, Mariane Pearl lost her husband in the most horrific way. But I think even she might agree that the loss of a child and not knowing where they are or what is happening to them is probably the absolute worst thing in the world. As a mother, it was harder for me imagining that somebody was abusing my child while they were wondering why mommy wasn’t coming to save them. As a mother, that’s just the worst possible scenario,” the actress revealed in her interview for Parade magazine.
“When I first read the script [of The Changeling] I just couldn’t put it down, but then I said no, I’m leaving it,” Angelina Jolie said during the press conference in London on November 17, 2008. “I didn’t want to get involved with the project because it was too upsetting. But then I couldn’t stop talking about her [character]. I found myself sitting with people and wanting them to know about this extraordinary woman.”
Angie also revealed she doesn’t really watch her movies. “I like the process of doing them more than watching them. No, I just, I don’t really like to watch movies. I love to watch Brad’s movies.”
In Feb. 2009 it was reported that Angie will be serving at the executive producer of Resilient, a film that tells the stories of strong women from different countries. Her friend Mariane Pearl will interview five women who have overcome tough odds to bring about change in their communities.
In February 2009, Angelina was getting ready to film her new movie, spy thriller Salt. The film originally cast Tom Cruise in the starring role, but it was reworked to star a female lead after Angie showed interest in the project. The filming started in March 2009 in Washington, D.C.
In April 2009 it was reported Angelina had signed on to portray beautiful and hard-charging medical examiner named Dr. Kay Scarpetta for a forthcoming movie Untitled Kay Scarpetta Project that’s based on the best-selling novel series of the same name by Patricia Cornwell.
In May Angie was named The Most Beautiful Woman In The World by the Vanity Fair poll and came 4th in Glamour’s Top 5 Most Glamorous Women 2009. “Last year’s number one has a style uniform that works: simple, classic, modern. She stands out without wearing a look-at-me dress,” the mag stated.
Angelina was also named the highest-paid actress 2008 on Forbes‘ annual Celebrity 100 list released in July 2009.
To prove her international success and recognition, in late June 2009 it was revealed Angie was chosen the new spokesperson for Armani’s next fragrance that’s set to hit stores before the end of the year.
In October 2009 it was confirmed Angelina would replace Charlize Theron in the thriller The Tourist. The film is about an Interpol agent (Jolie) in Europe who manipulates an American tourist (Sam Worthington,Terminator Salvation, Avatar) in an attempt to flush out an elusive criminal who was her former lover.
Before the filming of The Tourist begins Angie will star in Gucci, the drama movie about the fashion design empire. Angelina will reportedly star as Gucci’s (Leonardo DiCaprio) ex wife who plotted his murmer and then was sentenced for 29 years in jail.
George Wallace (1997) won Jolie a Golden Globe award and an Emmy nomination. The film, among other awards, received the Golden Globe for Best Miniseries/Motion Picture made for TV.
In 1998 Jolie won another Golden Globe award and another Emmy nomination for her performance in Gia, and she additionally earned a Screen Actors Guild Award.
Girl, Interrupted (1999), besides fame and recognition, brought Angelina her third Golden Globe, her second Screen Actors Guild Award and an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. Variety noted, “Jolie is excellent as the flamboyant, irresponsible girl who turns out to be far more instrumental than the doctors in Susanna’s rehabilitation.” Jolie’s role is said to be reminiscent of Jack Nicholson’s character in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (1975), the role which won Nicholson his first Oscar.
Girl, Interrupted made Jolie one of the first actresses to win 3 consecutive Golden Globes in 3 different categories: “Best Supporting Actress in a Mini Series”: George Wallace (1997), “Best Actress in a TV Movie or Mini Series”: Gia (1998), “Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture”: Girl, Interrupted (1999). Coincidentally, all her roles were based on real people.
A Mighty Heart (2007) based on Mariane Pearl’s memoirs, earned Jolie her fourth Golden Globe and her third Screen Actors Guild Award nomination.
In 2009 Angelina won Favorite Femal Action Star award at the 35th People’s Choice Awards. She was also nominated for Golden Globe, Crititcs’ Choice Awards and SAG Awards in the category Best Actress in Motion Picture for The Changeling. Her outstanding performance in the movie also brought her a nod for Best Leading Actress at 2009 Oscars and British Academy of Film and Television Awards (BAFTA), which are considered Britain’s version of the Oscar. “I feel very very lucky that I have won in the past. Listen, it’s lovely to be nominated. But I’m hoping Benjamin Button does really good on the night…. I’m rooting for Brad [Pitt],” Jolie said during her interview for Good Morning America on February 3, 2009.
In May 2009 she was also named hottest Femme Fatale at 2009 Spike TV’s 2009 Guys Choice Awards.
“You should never help somebody out of pity, or to get Brownie points in heaven. You should genuinely find joy in making somebody else’s life better,” the actress said in one of her recent interviews.
Angelina Jolie’s humanitarian activities started in 2001 during filming Lara Croft: Tomb Raider in poverty-stricken and widely mined Cambodia. Jolie considered being there an eye opening experience, and so began the humanitarian chapter of her life. She turned to UNHCR for more information on international trouble spots. Jolie began visiting refugee camps around the world. In February 2001, Jolie went on her first field visit, an 18-day mission to Sierra Leone and Tanzania; she later expressed her shock at what she had witnessed. In the coming months she returned to Cambodia for two weeks and later met with Afghan refugees in Pakistan where she donated $1 million for Afghan refugees in response to an international UNHCR emergency appeal. She insisted on covering all costs related to her missions and shared the same rudimentary working and living conditions as UNHCR field staff on all of her visits.
Later that year, on August 27, Angelina Jolie was formally appointed a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Some of her experiences were written and published in her popular book Notes from My Travels (2003) whose profits go to UNHCR.
In a press conference Jolie explained her motives for joining the refugee agency: “We cannot close ourselves off to information and ignore the fact that millions of people are out there suffering. I honestly want to help. I don’t believe I feel differently from other people. I think we all want justice and equality, a chance for a life with meaning. All of us would like to believe that if we were in a bad situation someone would help us.”
Jolie has stated that she now plans to spend most of her time in humanitarian efforts, to be financed by her actress salary. According to her own words, she devotes one third of her income to savings, one third to living expenses and one third to charity.
Later in 2003 Jolie was the first recipient of the Citizen of the World Award from the UN’s Correspondents’ Association for her work as a Goodwill Ambassador with the UNHCR. In August 2005 Jolie was made an official citizen of Cambodia by the King for her ongoing efforts to help the environment there. Angelina’s first adopted child, Maddox, comes from Cambodia.
She started spending more time on her humanitarian missions. As a Goodwill Ambassador, Jolie visited Tham Hin refugee camp in Thailand and Colombian refugees in Ecuador to take a closer look at the “Western Hemisphere’s most severe humanitarian crisis” in 2002. She also went to various UNHCR facilities in Kosovo as well as to Sudan refugee camp in Kenya.
While filming Beyond Borders (2003) in Namibia she met with Angolan refugees as a UNHCR Ambassador. This year the star also visited Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Russia’s North Caucasus, Jordan to visit Iraqi refugees there, and Egypt to meet Sudanese refugees.
Also in 2004, Jolie had her first U.N. trip within the United States. She went to Arizona to visit detained asylum seekers and unaccompanied children in Phoenix. She also flew to Chad in June, and then four months later she returned to the region, this time going directly into West Darfur.
In 2005, Jolie visited Pakistani camps containing Afghan refugees, and met with Pakistan’s President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz as a part of her Goodwill Ambassador mission. She visited Pakistan twice that year, coming with Brad Pitt during the Thanksgiving weekend.

Jolie also spoke for several bills to aid refugees and vulnerable children in the Third World.
In addition to her political involvement, Jolie began using her public profile to promote humanitarian causes through the mass media. She filmed a MTV special, The Diary of Angelina Jolie & Dr. Jeffrey Sachs in Africa, portraying her and noted economist Dr. Jeffrey Sachs on a trip to a remote group of villages in Western Kenya.
Jolie kept on receiving wide recognition for her humanitarian work. But many end up becoming lost, traumatized, and ultimately forgotten,” Angelina said.
During one of the recent interviews Jolie confessed “it was only when I came out of my shell and started taking care of others that I found the real Angelina.”

In early February 2009 Angelina Jolie visited Thailand and called on the Thai government to grant Myanmar refugees in northern Thailand greater freedom of movement. “I was saddened to meet a 21-year-old woman who was born in a refugee camp, who has never even been out of the camp and is now raising her own child in a camp,” Jolie said. “With no foreseeable chance that these refugees will soon be able to return to Burma (Myanmar), we must find some way to help them work and become self reliant. I hope we can work with the Thai authorities to speed up the government admissions process and that you will not be forced to go back to Burma if danger remains.”
In support of Angelina Jolie’s eight-year relationship with the UN Refugee Agency, in June 2009 the Jolie-Pitt Foundation has given $1 million to help displaced people in Pakistan. On July 23, 2009 Angelina had her third trip to Iraq. It was a day trip to bring attention to the plight of displaced people within the country and outside of Iraq. She spent time with four families who were displaced from Abu Ghraib. “This is a moment where things seem to be improving on the ground, but Iraqis need a lot of support and help to rebuild their lives,” the actress said of the trip. “I want to come back and find you in a better place and in a different situation. We hope that UNHCR and the government will support you in getting a piece of land. You need help not because you are poor, but because you are the future of Iraq,” she added when talking to the locals.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt at the 2008 Jolie met her first husband Jonny Lee Miller while doing Hackers in 1995. It’s worth noting that Jolie’s marriage to Miller was anything but ordinary. They married on March 28, 1996. She attended her wedding in black leather pants and a white shirt, upon which she had written the groom’s name in her blood. The couple separated the following year and divorced on February 3, 1999. Jolie and Miller still remain on good terms. “It comes down to timing. I think he’s the greatest husband a girl could ask for. I’ll always love him, we were simply too young.” Jolie said on her ex husband later.
In 1998, she starred in the comedy-drama Pushing Tin, co-starring Billy Bob Thornton. Jolie played his seductive wife. While shooting Pushing Tin, Jolie started dating Billy Bob and then married him on May 5, 2000. She became his fifth wife, and he was 20 years her senior. The couple publicly declared their love and passion to one another most famously wearing one another’s blood in vials around their necks. They were the most popular high-profile couple those days. Jolie and Thornton divorced on May 27, 2003.
“It took me by surprise, too, because overnight, we totally changed. I think one day we had just nothing in common. And it’s scary but… I think it can happen when you get involved and you don’t know yourself yet.” Jolie stated in Vogue about the divorce. When still married to Thornton, Jolie adopted a Cambodian baby boy, named Maddox, now 6. He was her first adopted child.
In her interview for Parade magazine Angelina said: “I have two divorces behind me but I’m still good friends with both my exes, Billy Bob [Thorton] and Jonny Lee [Miller]. I’ve never had to deal with secrets from the men in my life because I’ve always married artists and they’re a very talkative and expressive bunch. I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Jolie met her present partner Brad Pitt while shooting Mr. & Mrs. Smith in 2005. The film was well received and was generally lauded for the chemistry between the two leads. There were rumors that Pitt and Jolie had an affair while filming Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
Jolie insisted that because her mother had been hurt by adultery, she herself could never participate in an affair with a married man, therefore there had been no affair with Pitt at that time. “To be intimate with a married man, when my own father cheated on my mother, is not something I could forgive. I could not look at myself in the morning if I did that. I wouldn’t be attracted to a man who would cheat on his wife,” the actress commented on the rumors.
During the press conference on October 16, 2008 Angelina Jolie has admitted that she and Brad Pitt fell in love on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith while he was still married to Jennifer Aniston. “Not a lot of people get to see a movie where their parents fell in love,” she said in excitement about her children being able to see the movie some day.
Nonetheless, Pitt separated from his wife Jennifer Aniston (Friends) in January 2005 and was frequently seen in public with Jolie the following months. Pitt’s divorce was finalized later in 2005. But neither Jolie, nor Pitt made any official statement about their relationship up to January 2006 when Angelina Jolie announced they would have a child together. Jolie gave birth to a daughter, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt on May 27, 2006 in Namibia, Africa. The government in Namibia has offered citizenship to her daughter.
The name “Brangelina”, referring to Jolie and Pitt, was created by entertainment media in 2005 when they were often seen together but still didn’t confirm their relationship.
“I don’t want to spend my life pretending to be somebody else, and I don’t want the person next to me to have to pretend ever, because we have a long life ahead of us. So you just want to be able to be who you are in every moment, and that’s the only way you’ll ever be truly happy,” Angelina said of relationship with Brad Pitt.
In her interview for Italian Vanity Fair in November 2008, Jolie said it was possible she’d marry Brad Pitt some day soon. “Usually people fall in love and everything revolves around the ritual of marriage, children are an afterthought. We did everything backwards. But sooner or later it will be the kids who ask us [to get married]. You know, they see films and start asking questions. Such as, ‘Why are Shrek and Fiona married and you’re not?’”
Angelina adds that it’s Brad and children who help her stay positive. “How can I complain about anything when I wake up in the morning and I’m surrounded by so much love with Brad and our children and the feeling that comes from sharing my life with them?” she said in her interview for Australia’s Herald Sun in November.
However, in late March 2009 there was a rumor Angie and Brad were having issues and rowing constantly. Reports in April claimed Angelina was angry and jealous cause Natalie Portman asked Brad to play her older lover in the next movie. “Angelina worries about karma. It’s eating her up and we’re sure the cause of a lot of the rows is her not quite trusting Brad,” a source reported. Angelina is particularly worried because she and Brad started their relationship after meeting on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith while he was still married to Jennifer Aniston, and she fears a case of history repeating itself, the source added.
The break-up rumors surfaced in January 2010. In February Angelina and Brad said they would sue any media source that continued spreading false allegations.
